This is my first attempt at repainting a Transformer.
    (I use to paint Gundams)
All I have right now is car mode pics. I still need to finish the rear of the car, but wanted to get opinions on how it looks so far.
I will be posting robot mode pics as soon as I'm done painting the car mode. I have resculpted the original Sideswipe head to look much more like Red Alert.

    **update**

I have added robot mode pictures plus a group shot of Sideswipe, Red Alert, and my second ever repaint "Titan" (don't know what else to call him)

I still need to do some touch up to it. Some of the white paint chipped off when converting him to robot mode. Plus I still need to paint a little detail on his chest where the autobot symbol will go. I can't decide if I want a little more red on his chest either.

How did you get the emblem on the door? Decals?

Thank you all for the kind words.
    As for the emblems,
I drew them in MS Paint,
printed them onto sticky back label paper,
    covered that with packing tape,
and then cut them out with an exacto.
    I call it a poor man's sticker.:D

DAMN! That paint job looks awesome. Great idea for the stickers. Are you gonna use a new head on Sideswipe once you finish Red Alert's?

    Thanks.
I just added robot mode pics.
As far as Sideswipes head, I was just thinking of making a small modification to give him a chin/goatee type thing like a drawing I recently saw.

That head looks really nice. Did you actually re-scultp it or just sand it down in different areas?

That Titan looks great too. Not a fan of the name cuz it seems like he should be bigger with the name 'Titan' Maybe something like Midnight or Eclipse or Streetstreaker

I guess the head's not a re-sculpt more of a modified shave/sand. I shaved off portions of the horns, side panels, and front of the "helmet", got rid of the chops on the face, thinned it out and gave him a nose job.

The only reason I was using "Titan" for the other one is because he's painted in a titanium color. Eclipse is kinda nice too. What about Shadowstreak?

I'd say your work looks really slick! Welcome, Radicon :)

I'd say that's a pretty good method to up the quality on label paper. Great work :thumb

It's funny. I made the top light from the corner of a ziplock tupperware lid and a chunk of white plastic that I painted silver. You'll never look at it the same.

I like Shadowstreak a lot. That he sanding is really good and now that I know it's just a matter of shaving down the original head I'm gonna give it a go.

How did you get his clear thigh pieces to look, well clear and not blue? Do you just remove the blue paint with rubbing alcohol? I though they were cast in blue

Yeah, I just removed the blue paint. I was going to paint them with a clear red but after I put them on him to not lose the screws, I thought they looked pretty good clear. I can't decide. Clear red or just clear?

Thanks for your help on the name for Shadowstreak. Now that he has a name, I can post a gallery.

Thank you all. You have made me feel very welcome here.
I am hoping to do a lot more customs to share with you.
I just need to find time between my four kids, work, and skateboarding.
My "Shadowstreak" (as seen in one of the above photos)is done and I should be posting a gallery soon.
