Dunno if I'm late to the game with this but I thought it was nice touch by Hasbro/Takara.

Sweet! Does he also fit inside G1 or Encore Soundwave?

I believe it fits in the double tape soundwave. Either 2007's toys r us reissue or the rare japanese soundblaster.

I had a hard time getting him into a dual slot. (if laser beak or any other g1 cassette)

But yes Ravage 2.0 fits in a single slot SW.

To be honest, Hound is a little too generic looking in my opinion. Standing next to Cyclonus on my desk he just looks so plain...his alt mode is awesome though.

I'm not really liking Hound & Ravage, although I will buy them and give them a chance. I don't really see how they made this Ravage any better than the original...

Are you serious? Granted the lack of poseable ankles and no diecast is a hinderance. but the mold and style is loads better. The fact that he is no longer a two dimensional puma is all the bettter.

    See my pic.

Old Ravage looks hilarious compared to the new one, like a cardboard cut some kid made.

I agree that Hound looks generic. I was initailly going to get the two-pack and trade off Hound, but I may try to bash him into a GIJoe Vamp or something.

I'd really like to see them re-do the rest of the main cassettes as well, mainly a Rumble with piledriver arms.

Ravage is 3-dimensional now rather than flat like the G1 version.

Take away new Ravage's jaw and you have Laserbeak's head. That's distracting.

it is there. its just the angle I shot the pic. New Ravage hides the tail.

id argue that hes not better than the orignal, the original microman toy is a work of art, its simple ingenuity, superbly tight sculpt and construction make it a classic toy, it actually looks like a puma, very sleek (ok, a stylised charicature of one, maybe thats its strength)

universe ravage is still very well done considering he represents pretty much a freebie or about $1 of the final price of the hound/ravage combo, to my mind the move to a more 3D figure is an improvement and is ingenious anyway.
