Gorgeous! I like the Hasbro version just fine, but there's no question that this looks classier and evokes the character more strongly. Your customs have such a nice depth to the colors, and complexity to the tones; must be all that layering of slightly different colors.

The extra little decals add a lot, too, as of course does Astoria. :)

I'm watchin' it on eBay.... though I have a feeling it will shoot up out of my price range. Anyway, great work.

absolutely amazing. The only tiny nitpick I have is that his guns (looks like the MW sandstorm guns yes?) don't store somewhere on his plane and that's one of my pet peeves on transformers. Otherwise really amazing, great work!

this makes me want this figure.

whether I'll be able to see the potential on the shelf is another matter though.

You did a great job on this. It would great displayed with the MP figures (it looks a little too tall to be with the classics). It looks way better than the regular version. Way to go

    Incredible!
Gotta ask, though, doesn't the paint rub off all over the place? I got powerglide the other day, and the transformation is pretty complexe with lots of rubbing surfaces! What kind of paint did you use? Did you sand down rub-prone areas?
Please give us all some tips!!!!

oh, and any tips on dying? I've never done it before, and it sounds kinda nerve wracking...

I did a lot of prep work on this guy. an important one was the dying process. even if paint were to rub, it would expose the dark red underneath. I sanded well the rubbing areas, and prepped the surface with a light brushing of paint thinner. this thinner breaks down all the coating the factory puts on. then I prime with fusions, then airbrush with enamel.
