this big bot helped me earn 2nd place at tfcon this year.(my nemesis...pun intended, finally killed my streak)
i've seen alot of really bad@ss overlord customs over the years,be it with the tidalwave mold or articulating the original.with this one,i wanted to go a completely different route.
he can transform into all 4 modes,blackbird/tank/base/big robot.
the base is scaled almost perfectly for legends figs, they can even ride in the cockpit as the whole drop down canopy is still functional.
the electronic lights and sounds that primus makes when you transform him are still intacts,so his eyes do light up and flash red.
the tank is almost ultra class sized and the blackbird is just plain big.
in bot mode,he stands at 16 and a half inches tall, but with the shuttle/shield attached he's 17 inches tall.

    the recipe for him is=
    gijoe roc nightraven..severely chopped up.
    cybertron primus
    g1 metroplex full legs
    tftm07 leaderclass brawl
vintage gijoe "cobra pogo" blast shields
    vintage g1 hotrod(tank canopy)
    armada unicron lower legs
    g1 jetfire(chest and head mods)
    assorted zoids weapons/cannons
    struxx connectors male and female
    cybertron leaderclass megatron(main cannon)
    mp optimus(main cannon)
loonie store k/o abrahams tank(main turret)
hot glue and shortstrand fiberglass(for filling and weight addition for balance)
all was based coated with automotive flat black enamel, then every other color was hand painted with tamiya acrylics, then coated with walmart krylon matte clear.
the silvers (not the dry brushed areas)are avery automotive color changing vinyls and the yellow head lights are hand drawn and hand cut vinyls.same thing with the decepticon logos and orange simulated glass, all hand cut vinyl.

Thanks for posting! This guy's awesome! Sizable beast indeed if he's made from Primus parts.

He only needs a few Wreckers and possibly other random TFs to slaughter.

Most impressive, sir! But one question, where's his collection of Wrecker's faces?

    thanks guys!!!!

my main negative is that i never had the time at tfcon this year to do a proper shoot with him mangling the "fallen heroes" wreckers project:(
there was even a guzzle made specifically to split in half for a certain scene in the lsotw's comic.

I'd always wanted to see a GI Joe scaled overlord, so I was pretty happy seeing you use a nightraven. Great job on this, the amount of work put into it is unbelievable.

That's freaking awesome work! Overlord is one of my all time fav characters, so it's nice to see him updated like this. Shame you couldn't squeeze in some Godmasters but maybe this is Overlord post-Masterforce? Give yourself a hi5 :D

That ought to be an official design, right there. Hasbro, take a page out of this guy's book and do what's right. :bay
