In my never-ending quest to expand the Classics ranks, I give you an oft-overlooked character: G1 Omnibot Security Agent Downshift.

This was a super easy kitbash to give us yet another updated G1 Autobot. He began life as Classics Cliffjumper which I disassembled and coated with Krylon Fusion white. The finishing touch was giving him Cybertron Bendy Prime's head which ironically makes a good stand-in for Downshift's G1 head. I'm quite pleased with the results. I'm letting the paint cure for at least another week before I touch him again.

Sweet. Not something that I plan to do, but, that is a good idea to expand the Classics line.

That looks fantastic! The bot mode looks spot on. Nice stuff.

Holy Cow!!! That works amazingly well! I never would've thought of turning Bumblebee into that character, but it's pretty dead on. Right down to the transformation scheme.

    Nice work!

Now you just need to turn Rodimus into Overdrive. :)

Nice. Nobody cares about Omnibot Downshift, but the BB mold works so well for him, who can complain? :)

Nice, but the head still look too much like Prime, IMO.

    Its baby Magnus!!!

I'm just kidding...actually, that works really well. Kudos for creating something unique!

If the Botcon 2007 repaint Bugbite looked as good as yours, I might have wanted the set a little more!

Thanks all. I may try and mod the head some more to look less like Prime, anyone have any suggestions?

I too suck at working with white, one reason I put this project off so long (I scored Cliffjumper back when Target clearanced them). He's already rubbing a bit in certain spots, which is why I'm leaving him alone for a week.

I feel this would have been a better use of the mold for Botcon then Bugbite. Were it up to me, I'd have stuck Mirage in the boxset as Crasher, keeping the deluxe scale Gobot character in the set, and used Downshift here as the freebie. Granted the headswap would have meant more work on FP's part. At the same time, I can admit that Downshift is a pretty boring repaint, lacking Bugbite's tatoos, but I digress.

Has anyone attempted turning Bumble bee into Hubcap yet?
