Hello everyone! I've been a big fan of how active the custom community is here for a while now and figured I'd stop being lazy and start posting my stuff here too. I'll dredge out some older stuff bit by bit, but I don't wanna flood the board with a whole bunch of stuff at once.

Needlenose was created from a Generations Thunderwing, RtS Tracks, and PCC minicons Waterlog and Chainclaw. Project turned out to be more difficult than I anticipated. There were problems attaching Track's head to Thunderwing's body and lots of problems with paint chipping for some reason, even after I clearcoated him. D:

Also, as you can probably tell, I'm not very good at working with modelling putty. Yet, I persevered through it all and ended up with something I'm reasonable satisfied with. Oh, and I didn't go for Needlenose's original targetmaster colors because I just didn't really care for them. :)

Certainly an interesting take on the character. I wouldn't have thought to use the Thunderwing mould, but it does look rather charming overall. :)

Probably a good move not bringing over the neon green face from bot mode (some bots can rock it and some just can't>.<)

However (and this definitely not a diss on your efforts- just IMO as someone who has the G1) I think the metallic/minty green that featured in the originals wing stickers might have looked nice on the leading edges of the wings and tail fins. Each to their own though.

    Brilliant work overall :thumbs2:
I look forward to your future customs :D

Just curious--can the guns combine the other way? I sold my Chainclaw a while ago, otherwise I'd try it myself.

I have a Thunderwing mold just waiting for this. The Tracks head is a perfect idea and I just happen to have one. The two pcc you picked out works great. Where are u having the paint chip? Overall a great needlenose

Thanks for all the nice words people! I'm thrilled that you guys seem pleased with it. I'm very open to constructive criticism too, so the rest of you all don't be afraid to point out things that could be better! :)

No idea. I started it before the DotM toys came out, but I went for long stretches of not working on it too.

I think would have liked to have gotten closer to the original stripe pattern, but in all honesty, I didn't have a clue as to how I was going to handle the wing deco even as I was painting it. The pics I was going by made the wing stripes look more light blue than green; so for simplicity's sake, I just did it all in the same navy blue. Perhaps adding some smaller, lighter stripes in the navy would evoke the original deco a bit more strongly?

That actually never occurred to me to try. I assume they would though.

The biggest problems seem to be with the shoulder armor and how the inside of the kneepads almost has to scrape across the torso piece in transformation. Also, the silver paint on Chainclaw's thighs just rubs right off whenever I brush the clearcoat over it.

I think this works out much better as Needlenose than Thunderwing. Looks great!

Absolutely fantastic. I always thought Thunderwing could make a good Needlenose! I'm glad someone else thought the same, and had the tools to act on it. :)
