Hi everyone. Here are renders of my finished HD Classics Megatron model. Started back in September 2006, but was close to done for over a year now. He's built to be able to transform. This color scheme is based off the Classics version originally, but with the purple changed to black. Since I planned it, the Henkei version came out, so I used that to add extra color detailings. This Megatron model goes with my HD Optimus Prime model, which you can see renders of at the following link:
    Index of /venksta/2008/HDPrime

I've done a bunch of renders to show off all the detailing, but I won't show post them all here. So you can check them out at the following link:

Also, check out the Fusion Cannon transformation here:

Great stuff Venksta! Glad to see you finished this guy up... it's amazing, I don't know how you do it, but you do it good! Keep it up!

Oh, and let's see a pic of the HD Megs and Optimus together, fighting it out (if possible).

The youtube animation is very nifty too. Great job!!

Thanks for your comment Numlock. :D  I'm definitely going to do a render with both Megatron and Optimus, along with a Shattered Glass version of this Megatron. :)

That's some mad mad skillz you have there.
    The detail work is insane.
Both Megs & Shocky are absolutely stellar.

wow man, my jaw hurts. the detail is phenomenal. talk about HAWT. shame his wings disappear though I understand why. Would you mind please attaching more images? It's ok to link to a personal gallery when you've got more images than a thread can handle (which is 20) but you only have a single image attached. You can make those that are attached also be the full-size shots if you read our FAQ (super duper easy). I made a quick vid that shows how as well, need to link to it in the FAQ as it's just in a Radicons Discussion thread currently. heh.

Hi Redline. Actually, in the original post, I put a direct link to where the rest of the renders are. But I've gone and uploaded a bunch now to the original post. The wings don't disappear. I just removed them to show the detailing on the back side. Otherwise, all that work would be a waste if no one could see it. :)

Thanks for your comments everyone. :D

I've updated the first post with three renders of Megatron in the current Nerf Maverick color scheme. Hes got a red Decepticon symbol, since I see him as a Shattered Glass character. :)

nice detailing, not sure about the materials though, could do with either going really stylised or really realistic, look a bit close to the defaults

    Amazing!
just out of curiosity, how many polygons is this guy made out of? :3
I'm wagering a guess that alot of the details, like the inside of the wings are super-intricate normal maps and texture work.

Thanks again for all your comments.

Hes almost 900,000 polygons. That is also based on the fact I keep my geometry clean with un-needed polygons taken out. The only textures maps I used was on the black grill around the back of the helmet. Everything else is modeled. :)
