They finally did it right... A cool gun mode that doesn't transform into an asstastic robot mode... It's amazing how they were able to pull it off with the transformation process...

Granted the two "wings" on the back are a bit kibbly, but hey, I'm willing to take that over having an exposed gun mode...

Now if only it fired Nerf bullets...:lol

10.0 out of 10.0 for me...

    My observations:

    1. Yes he NEEDED to be able to fire bullets of SOME sort. Hell even a water gun feature would've been nice.

    2. His fists don't rotate so when I have his Arm Cannon pointed at something and his rotated so the cannon is on top of his arm, his fist is compeltely upside down...

    3. It makes him taller but you can rotate the wings up (by simply flipping the joint up) and displaying the Painted side of them rather than the Green side. Megs looks a LOT better that way!

I noticed that, too on mine. Looks like Megs may be the only one without the rub.

Really... I guess this is a more widespread thing that I initially thought... Luckily we can get rubsigns at Reprolabels...

I guess when he has a prominent Decepticon logo showing in both modes, a rubsign is kind of redundant.

Such was the case with the G1 guys, though. It'd be nice if he'd had one.
Aw well, I need to re-rubsign a bunch of my G1s next year sometime anyway.

Another excellent figure. Sadly the wing kibble detracts in robot mode and no firing mecanisim. Also wish the cannon could be placed on the top of the forearm instead of the bottom. I give him an A though. Still an incredible figure.. But prime is a tiny bit better.

    Classics Megatron

Anyone else notice that Megatron has two hardpoints - the kind that go with both Minicons and Energon weapons? They're up on the grey body of the gun near the scope. Great place to put an energon weapon if you want to give him a little extra firepower.

Oh, and he rocks. Hurrah for Burbank Fry's!

Best of the Classics by far...everything that bugged me about initial pics had grown on me...the wings, the neon and the unibrow. The neon colors still bug me a little, but I understand why they HAD to do it, and I'm grateful for the fact they even went to the trouble to release a Gun Megatron after YEARS of saying "Never again". Really the only thing I'd change is somehow giving him wrist swivel movement, but thats a TINY nitpick. Everything else about the toy is absolutely spectacular. It IS G1 Megatron but beefed up, as if Unicron upgraded him instead of turned him into Galvatron...

Even with the little things I'd change it's still an A+++++++++++++++++++++. Easily one of my top five favorite TF toys ever released.

Yup, and this time he doesn't look riDONKulous in robot mode...

About the cannon/wrist thing, yeah it's a bummer and I can see why people are a bit disappointed by it, but on the other hand, I view it as him holding his gun like Galaxy Convoy holds his two BFGs in super mode... Or like how Jesse Ventura held his minigun in Predator... So yeah, I think it's bad assed...:D

My least favorite classic. Gun is cool...but a tank is cooler. Articulation is their on paper, but rachets kind of limit the attainable poses. Heel articulation helps. Back kibble lends to his instability.

BFG is cool, I don't mind the placement, and I like the head sculpt. Knee armor is neat, I didn't expect it. Nice height.

    A-/B+

Yessir. It's definitely just me being picky:)

I showed Megatron to my dad this afternoon (who watched the G1 cartoon and helped me put the stickers on my G1 toys) and he was floored. I've shown him a lot of my other TFs I've bought over the last 5 years but he was equally impressed by Megatron as I was. it was pretty cool.

That's awesome... I wish my dad were like that... But no, he views them as a "waste of money..." But then I remind him that his Chinese antiques are a "waste of money" too...

So does his trigger pull back in Gun mode so we can at least pretend to fire him?

I was kinda hoping for electronic laser sounds myself, but that would probably have sacrificed too much to accomodate a battery compartment and changed budget dynamics.

Guess I'll just have to chase the dogs around and make the "PYEW! PYEW!" noises myself. :)
