    Ingredients:
    1 Classics Megs
    1 pair Alternator Jeep hands

    Directions:
    Dremel vigorously. :)

The upside down hand thing has bothered me since I first saw this mold. I happened to have an extra Swindel that I'd never done anything with and a free evening. This is the result.

I painted the orange tips black as kind of a test of Testors acryllic model paint. It doesn't stick that well... You may also notice the wings are missing. I like him much better this way. I just knocked out the pin and clip them back on when I want to play with him in pop-gun mode.

And here's the details. Please forgive the rough edges and exposed bondo. This Megs is getting a G1 paintjob next. I just wanted to do the hands first.

Left arm totally hollowed out. The thumb also got shaved.

    Fist rotated and inside.

    Arm closed up.

The right arm was easier. The grey part was shaved a bit.

The back part was hacked out.

Fist slightly visible, but it doesn't hender transformation.

Yeah, you really can't just lay paint over plastic and expect awesome results. You need to rough the surface first so the paint has texture to help grip it.

Those hands are kinda big aren't they? Sideswipe fists would have looked better being small and all.

Still, nice touch...I used gundam hands on mine.

Killer idea , and great execution. Might try the same with my custom Megs.
Those little fists he originally has are'nt doing it for me.

I like it. I always wonder why these dhanges don't get made prior to release of the figure.

    Most likely a budget issue.

Nice mod, revlimiter! Those hands bug me too, and this is an interesting solution. :)

I did something similar, but lacking time and a spare Swindle, I just cut off his existing hand and used lots of Milliput to build the rest of his hand (because his unmodified hand is actually only about 3/4 of a hand that kind of melds into the wrist piece):

I drilled out the wrist and hand, and used a piece of brass rod as the connector:

I also trimmed the arm to allow for the larger hand. The end result is a tight joint that's tolerably sturdy:

I also took the opportunity to remove every orange part and dye it black; I didn't want to use paint, since I wanted to retain maximum playbility. As it is, I can jab my roommate in the ribs with the pistol all I want, and the coloring won't rub off.

I did use paint for the insides of the wings, the light piping, and the gun cylinder, but those are generally low-contact areas, and the transparent red paint is actually really impact-resistant. The result is still a Nerf gun, but still better than it was out of the box, and still able to be used as a toy.

Nice job 9.8! Looks like you had to hack out less of the inner arm than I did too. Very cool. I like the dye too. I'm still unsure of what I want him to look like in gun mode.

Maybe it's just pride in my work, but the hand mod I did makes Megs _so_ much more fun to play with. I actually brought him into work today and have been blowing up the hotwheels I've got sitting on my desk.

it's funny how Hound's hands are probably the worst among the Alternators, and yet once you put them on Megatron they become amazing. I wish I had the talent to make something like that, cos it really does look as fun as you think it is.

    Awesome!

I was actually going to do the regular hand wrist rotation mod, but I do have an extra hound, so maybe I'll go that route.

you could try the sideswipe hands like TFM suggested, they're not quite as big as hound's.

I think the Sideswipe hands would look undersized. Hound's hands fit the mold really well

I agree. I like the look of slightly disproportionately large TF hands, as long as they are articulated.

The problem with Sideswipe hands is the lack of the proper hole-hinge thingy. Hound hands do have the right hole-hinge and require less modification. I guess one could dremel Megs original hands and plastic weld the Sideswipe hands on there, but that's just a lot of work.
