    Ebay:
I was in Best Buy today and found a Classics LOC Jetfire (Cybertron Thundercracker repaint) sitting next to the TF movie DVD. Never seen it in stores before. Looked around and didn't see any others. No price sticker so I took it to the register and it rang up for ONE CENT. So I fished a penny out of my pocket and was on my way!!

Tax on a penny, at least in my experience, is a penny. A Two cent LoC Jetfire doesn't sound as cool as a 1 cent one.

I'm amazed they sold it to you. Being one cent is usually a sign of "DO NOT SELL".

When I bought Cybertron Optimus Prime, I got Metroplex for free. I never saw a sign that said "buy one get one free" but since they were the last on the shelf at the time, who's complainin, right?

1 cent is a value that free items are given in best buy so that they can track the inventory, the computer can't track an item without a value associated with it. Most of the items are usually some type of promo item bundled with a dvd, or a game. Example buy men at arms for the 360 and get an exclusive xbox 360 men at arms face plate. I would expect your find was linked to either the dvd or the transformers game a while ago and now ,since such promotion is far over, they seperated the link and are just charging you the arbitrary value used to help track it.

It's not a major deal, most promo stuff that doesn't move ends up like this, faceplates, bonus dvds, strategy guides, keychains etc. etc.

Last year I finally got around to picking up the Universe Constructions (released in the Energon range over here), 6 items at £2.99 each. I wasn't paying much attention when I was paying, and it was only much later that I realised I'd only been charged for 5! No mention of any offers on, I can only assume one didn't scan successfully but went unnoticed.
