I warmed the head with a blowdryer and then used a pair of pliers to grab the head. Came right off. The fit isn't perfect (the wider of the face hits the collar), but the head is spot on.

I tweaked the head just slightly to get it to sit back further without modding the body. I haven't had a chance to work on it yet but I'll post a couple shots of it once I get it finished. Should look really nice.

Got one of these a week or so ago and feel bad for not saying THANK YOU here before now.

I ended up shaving just a smidge off the front of the "collar" area on either side of the head with an X-acto knife and the head sits on perfectly without showing any signs of cutting or manipulation, like it had always been there.

I only needed to touch up the silver paint a little bit but that was just a personal touch, it's perfect otherwise.

If you've got the cash and the figure...BUY ONE. ;p You won't regret it. ;)

I appreciate all of the kind words guys! These are sold out for now in A-grade. I do have a few rough ones that require some sanding that I would sell for $5 shipped each, if anyone is interested. Otherwise, this one is done for now :)  I may do another run in the future, if demand warrants it. Right now it appears that demand has been met.

Mine just arrived today, and I'm excited to install it! Does anyone here have any suggestions about what kind of glue to use?

Loctite super glue gives a fantastic Hold (not that cheap £1 superglue from the £ shop, go to Tesco and buy it)

After seeing this Custom Installed U really realise what plums Hastak were for not giving us this to begin with!

Thank you very much for taking the time to do the video :)  If enough interest re-emerges for more heads, I may have to do a second run!

Count me in for that second run! I was unaware of this project until recently. Tuesday Morning stores currently have "Gold Bumblebee" for about $2, so I grabbed one. I lamented to a friend about the lack of a new head sculpt, and he pointed me to the YouTube video by sixpointsinspace.

If enough demand doesn't materialize, have you still got any of the rough ones?

Also add me on the list of 2nd runs for this figure. i always wanted this kit,
But for the cost of just of just 1 head (after S&H to Canada), i was able to get an entire deluxe class figure.

So it was never a financial priority, given i am on a fixed income.
but my finances just drastically improved, to the point i can now get one of these kits, with out my wallet crying at me.

Also, i was looking at the dark yellow with black stripes Classics Bumblebee from the Toys R Us, exclusive DOTM legends 4 pack (The one with 2 Bumblebees, & 2 Starscreams).

And i was thinking with a new head sculpt, it would make an amazing Hubcap figure.
if you decide you would like to do Hubcap as a follow up to your Goldbug, i can send you a G2 Hubcap figure for you do your magic with. (since the G2 figures, are the same mold as the G1 figures)

I also have a red G1 Bumblebee, if you wanted to do his original "Battlemask" head for the little guy.

I'd also be interested in a Goldbug head if a second run is produced. I just discovered the review video by sixpointsinspace. The local Five Below store has a dozen or so RTS Gold Bumblebee figures in stock for cheap. I love my original G1 Throttlebots, so I figure why the hell not?!
