I used the same technique that I used on the recent Marvel Universe figures and the Generations Warpath that I posted. Some black washing but I also scratched and scuffed up Kup for a more aged and weathered look. Now he's all old and dirty.

    UPDATE 3/13/12

Added some mud to make him a dirty old man.

This looks great, but I would have added the Igear aftermarket head. Love, it none the less!!

I think this the robot is a very good balance of weathering, but not going too far with it. I do think some of the weathering detracts from the alt mode just a little bit. It's a nice piece :thumb

I don't think I need to buy a new head every time I buy a Kup.

I do like how the front end looks. Were do you think it detracts?

I think it works nicely in bot mode..But the alt mode..the weathering effect is too random and wide spread..it just looks..brushed on dirty..it's like..you just put it everywhere. It's all too even. No one area--maybe except the top of the windshield really--stands out. your brush strokes are all about even in length, and then the direction is changed up here and there also throwing it off..it needs more of a mix..all the damage is one tone. There would be rust, some primer showing, etc.

The hood/fenders and the roof. I just think it's a bit much. Also, I'd recommend photo-referencing some weathered, dirty, and moderately-old trucks. I think part of the problem is that Kup's alt mode isn't terribly old of a truck. I think you can use that to your advantage, though, as it's not like his truck has sat around and rusted, but that he's been in some fire-fights and explosions.

Anyways, I hope my comments there are helpful :)

I pictured him ramming through decepticons like Prime in the animated movie.
