*See my last post for updates on the digibashes.

Hey all. Here are a couple ideas I have for some Classics Kitbashes. here are some rough digibashes I've done of my ideas. The first two are Rainmakers. First of which is Sun Storm (yeah, usually one word, but for the team I've split it up). Second of which is Thunder Storm (was going to go with Rain Storm, but it didn't sound right for some reason). The third one is Scourge. Not exactly G1, but it works imo. Depending on wether or not we get any more mass retail repaints of the Seeker mold, I'll more than likely do the two Rainmakers. Scourge on the other hand depends on how available the two-pack is around me, and wether or not I change my mind between now and then. The head I've put on it is the custom one that Sculpt-bot made, though if I do the kitbash, I'm thinking about making a head for it myself. The alt-mode would also be different. The point of the nose-cone would be gone (aka the two pieces that flip out of the feet will basically be gone), and the wings will be pointed up, and possibly have some additions to them to make them look like the two tower like things on G1 Scourge. Also the two tail-fin pieces will be gone, as they can just be pulled off. What do you guys think? Thanks for looking, and for any comments I get.

So, does Scourge have a boat mode?

I've only done a bot-mode digibash, but if I do this kitbash, the jet-mode would be modiffied to be more boat-like.

This part of my first post describes the basic mods I would do that would affect his alt-mode.

so he's a rainmaker not a sweep now? Just curious, but what ya gonna do when a real rainmaker (acid storm) comes out? They were a trio, but I'm guessing you're going to change that for your fiction?

Oh yeah, I too am going to go seeker crazy when acid storm comes out. I plan to do three multi colored seekers, and then some drones. I also plan to make a Desert Attack Ramjet, like the prototype, luckily I already have the parts for that. I love painting that mold, its just towards the end of classics 1 starscream was in short supply. Any plans to do the green seeker?

No, only the first two are Rainmakers. I plan on making them to go with Acid Storm. Scourge is definetly a Sweep, just the only one I plan on making.

    ^^from my first post.

Nope. I'll be buying three Acid Rain figures, kitbashing two and leaving the one as is.

Very interesting customs you're planning on doing. They'll be awesome additions to your collection.

Scourge is the one I most likely won't do, and I'm actually kinda hoping that we get at least one more of the Rainmakers in the Universe line, so that I only have to kitbash one of them, lol. Depending on when I get them done, I might have a new digibash or two up in the near future of some more ideas I have.

well, here's how I see it. Sunstorm is nearly a guarantee. That being said, Hasbro's mucked up the last two releases of the character and made it primarily yellow instead of bright orange. I figure they'll do it again, in which case I'll get two, one to keep as is and be my 3rd rainmaker, and one to make orange for a proper Sunstorm. Dunno If I will do so via Dye, paint wash, or straight repaint.

Personally I like the more yellow look. Seems to have a better overall look with the white, imo. Depending on what shade of yellow they would use on him, you could just easily dye him a more orange color. I'm thinking about also trying to give these two (or just the one depending on the possibly release of the other) their own camo deco. That way they blend a bit better as a team.

Ok, this idea is a little out there, and I haven't done a digibash of it yet, but what does everybody (or at least those willing to post here) think about the possibility of a Classics Hun-Gurrr kitbash from the Universe Classics Tankor mold? It would definetly need some mods to do it, but that's something I've taken into concideration for this. Another mold idea for it is Classics Grimlock. While he only has one head in dino-mode, he could still work out, and he could always be modded to have two heads, though I'm more inclined to try out the Tankor mold for this. What do you guys think?

Edit: Just thought of another mold idea for a Hun-Gurrr kitbash. What about the Voyager Cybertron Starscream mold? It too would need some mods done to it, but it could potentially work. What do you guys think?

Update: Just added a basic digibash of my Hun-Gurr kitbash idea. Not all the mods I'm thinking of doing are in there, but it gets the general idea of it across. What do you guys think?

Well its okay, but needs work. And I think that you dont what to use the Cybertron Scourge for this, you want to have a some sort of G1 feel to it. Am I right.

Yeah. This is just the basic mods and paint-job I would do. I've worked out a way (in my head) to get his alt-mode to look a lot more like the G1's alt-mode. As for the Cybertron Scourge mold, it's ok, but you are correct. I'm going for a much more G1 feel to it. The loc repaint is ok, imo, but for something bigger (like this) I personally don't think it works. That and it'll be easier for me to get the Dirge vs. Roadbuster set than to get a Cybertron Scourge (it'll also give me a cool looking Autobot). I'll have to see if I can find one of those cheap dino-tf ko's that I saw at Big Lots once (they were a combiner if my memory is correct), as I think the one's legs would be perfect for my mod ideas. I might just slightly mod and repaint the head already on the mold, but if I can find a decent enough replacement one, I'll use that.

Cool, man. Well I hope that project turns out great. I'll be looking forward to it, when other projects that you have are complete.

I definitely think the Screamer/Hun-Grr could work. I assume you'd either use the arms as the back legs or at least attach them to the arms. With that in mind, I think a good idea would be to fit the front legs on a hinged backpack mounted to the bottom of his existing back kibble. When he transforms into his beast mode, the hinged pack could swing forward up under the 'cockpit' and hold that in place as well as putting the forelegs in position. Not sure how ell I've explained that... :p

I have a couple different ideas for the front legs. The back legs will most likely be his bot-mode arms positioned (maybe even an addition to them). I've already got a pair of front legs I'm thinking about using. They're the legs from a Real Gear High Score 100 figure that I used the head from for another kitbash. I'll have to wait till I have Dirge in-person to really decide what exactly to do with the front legs. I'm also thinking about shortening the tower-like things on either side of his head (another thing I'll wait till I have him to decide on).

Update: Just added a new digibash. This one is still a WIP digi, but it gets the point across so far. This one is what I currently plan to do for a Classics Hot Spot. The alt-mode isn't a firetruck, but that's not a big deal, imo. Especially since the Classics Prime mold looks wonderful in these colors, imo. I've got two kitbash ideas for this mold that I'm thinking about attempting. If I can get ahold of either the Optimus Prime & Ultra Magnus 2-pack that was released for cheap, or at least two of the mold for cheap, I'll be set to do both of them. The other one will require a new head, but other than that they'll be straight up repaints.

Unless you do some extensive modifications to make it a fire truck (or something else to make the custom indicative of "HOT SPOT"), I'd have to recommend another idea for a "Classics" Hot Spot. It looks like a Powered Convoy/Ultra Magnus mix to me (e.g. not "HOT SPOT"). I think I'd actually recommend a RiD Prime for a "Classics HOT SPOT" custom

I know you said you may pass on Scourge too, and I have to say that's a good call. There are some cool elements of your digibash, but overall it looks like a Cybertronian Seeker with a Scourge head. IMO, I think the Titanium Scourge makes a swell stand-in for a "Classics SCOURGE" (which is why I have one displayed with my Classics :) )

The Seeker customs look fun! I have my biases to Seekers (and Seeker customs!) anyways though :D  Keep us posted where you go with these ideas (and the many others you have)! :thumb
