I have been taking my skills for granted but I am not going to do that anymore and actually make something.

This is a toy I am making of classics Ironhide. It will be a mock up first and then a 3D printed design. I may or may not make a resin cast eventually

I also have an idea about how it can be retooled into Ratchet

    Progress on mock up: 35%
    Progress on Prototype: 0%

Concept art (What the finished product will look like):

Very ambitious, I'll need to keep an eye on this. The concept art kinda looks like PRID Ratchet to me (mainly the arms)

If the concept art’s face isn’t the biggest mood, though.

    Update:

Torso done. Mockup is now 50% finished (I'm not planning on mirroring the arms and legs on the mockup)

    Thank you

I like Prime Ratchet's design so it's cool that they look similar. The concept art has a different forearm transformation than the one that I'm going to use so the final model will look similar but not as thick. I am getting back into designing transformers after a few years away and I want to make a big splash with my most impressive design!

Thank you! I will not disappoint.

Thank you! I am jumping back into transformer design.

Lol, he looks super bored in the concept illustration. I'm doing something more expressive in the final design.

Update 8/10: head is done, starting on arms. Mock up is about 60% finished. Face is now expressive (angry)! I'm going back to the old arm transformation so the truck bed will be longer. IMG_20180810_172006120_LL~2.jpg IMG_20180810_172227134_LL~2.jpg IMG_20180810_170035759.jpg

Thank you for your kind words. I will not let you down!

The mock up is now finished. I am modelling some ideas for joints to test in 3d printing and after that is done I am going to start working on modelling Ironhide himself.

Hello, I switched from Inventor to Fusion 360. I completed a rough 3d model more or less but it has a lot of problems (modeling wise) so it cannot be transformed right now. I'm going to try and get a better understanding of components vs bodies and how to use joints in this software so that I can turn this model into the robot mode.
