    Input
    Classics Ironhide and Ratchet.

    Mods
    Clipped rear wheel arches
    New lower spine extension
    New Abdominal panel
    New hands
    New hips
    New thighs
    New Laser pistols
    New upper spine

    Still to do
    New shoulders
    Paint

The stock figures for this mould had many flaws: height, posture, hands, no real waist.
I always really wanted to like it but just couldn't get in the zone, so I took action.

These mods are designed to eliminate these flaws and still allow transformation.
This thread was dormant for a long time as I was getting more experience with my 3D printing and figuring out new techniques for doing different things. So, I decided to pick this one up again.

Here is a pic of the custom parts that make up this mod.
These were printed on my 3d printer.

I also plan to make an adapter for the stock classics blaster/sword that can be attached at either end and allow the weapon to be held like a standard gun/ bayonets.

Hi. I don't plan on putting this up on Shapeways.
But, if anyone is interested in a set as seen above, I will print it for $8 + shipping (which should be cheaper than Shapeways).
    Just email me at afcmods@gmail.com.
Once I make the blaster adapter, that would be an additional $2.

$8 for the hands and adapters? That's a great deal!

    He's back. It's been a while.
    Ironhide....
And, this time, Ratchet has had a make over too.
Mods include, new hands, upgraded spine extension, improved waist panel, and crotch panel (gotta love that).
I also trimmed the plastic around the wheels so they fold into the body more tightly.
Oh, and there's a laser pistol (not finalized yet).
    Painting to follow.

I need to double check that I haven't done anything to affect the transformation, with these newer upgraded parts, but it should be ok. Will check tonight.
I was procrastinating because I hate transforming this mould ;)

I checked the transformation and it works fine. The crotch panel could probably do with the edges trimmed a little as it currently pushes the sides of the vehicle out at the front a little.
Thing is though, when it comes to the vehicle mode for this mould, the stock panel alignment was so bad anyway, any impact of the mods is relatively small. I will get some pics done as it progresses.

I also had the idea of completely redesigning the waist of the figure so it looks waaayyyyyy better. Just not sure I can give it the time right now.
I am also considering new panels for the front of the shoulders. I have a couple of other projects on the go at the moment for other people so I'll see how this goes.

    New update.
Ratchet is sporting new ball jointed hips and thighs. I wasn't totally happy with the last mod so I took it a step further to try and rebalance the waist area.

I hope that you can make his leg longer.. possible do something with his thighs. I always thought Rachet and Iron Hide should be a short Voyager..

    Thanks for the feedback everyone.

The challenge in making the legs longer is the transformation. With the mods I've done, he stands as a tall deluxe and still transforms. If the legs are extended, I don't know yet how I could make the transformation work. Plus, his arms may look too short. I'll give it some thought though. It's like jigsaw puzzle trying to get everything to fit together lol.

Looks awesome.. Yes..I think the only way to have longer thighs is to have a sliding method. Even if the sliding mechanism somehow makes the thighs bigger that would add the figures more dynamic looking.. Great work thus far.. Keep it up!

This mold is the reason I skipped on Ratchet. This project makes me regret skipping Ratchet. Can't wait to see this finished.
