Here are some Insecticons I'm working on. Seems like there have been a lot lately but here are my WIPs pics.

A very huge THANKS goes to Rumble619 for his tutorials and all his great work that has motivated me to get to work on these guys. I can't stress enough how well the technique where you put a screw with the head cut off in between two part you wanna glue works ie attaching a ball joint to an existing fitting

Here are links to his tutorials

    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/tutorials-how-tos/261038-articulating-g1-shrapnel.html

Also thanks to Ptitvite for his orignal articulated Insecticons that inspired Rumble619's projects as well as planting the seed for me the eventually do these. Lastly Frenzy_Rumble's new version of these guys has got me thinking about some new things for Bombshell.

Shrapnel was the easiest and I recommend doing him first if you haven't have much experience with this type of heavier modding. I do plan to make his head rotate, just haven;t done it yet

    Ingredients -
    G1 Shrapnel
    Energon Skyblast
    Cybertron Scrapmetal

Kickback I deviated from Rafe's design a bit, plus he hasn't made a tutorial yet so I was kind of working blind. I'm also not ready to use any type of putty or sculpty so I did it my own way. The downside is that he will not have a waist swivel :(

    Ingredients -
    G1 Kickback
    Energon Stormcloud
Also the waist ball joint is from Classics deluxe 2-pack prime but I could have figured a way to use Stormcloud's I'm sure

Bombshell is almost entirely planned out but I ran out of time this weekend to start on him

Hey those look great thus far!

And yes Rumble619's originals are amazing. Has he posted a tutorial somewhere?

I'm thinking I need to pick up those reissues. Because the extra energon figures I have or are easy to come by.

    Sweet!

I've got a set of old spare junker Insecticons... I've been meaning to try an upgrade like this for years. Always good to let others go first... so you can SPY on them!!! ;)

looking great. only concern I have is Shrapnel's knees not being able to bend toward the back. I'm not sure if it's been mentioned, but making the heads "rotatable" is pretty easy. Between the piece holding the head onto the chest and the head is a square part, removing the 4 corners, shaping it more "round" will get the job done. Doesn't work too well with Bombshell, but does with Kickback and Shrapnel

Yeah as far as the head rotating that's my plan so far, just cutting the corners seems pretty easy. Luckily Kickback's head already rotates due to his transformation. I too was concerned about the lack of knee but I think I can live with it for now. I have considered a transplant in the knee area but not sure I'll go that far. I'm actually considering a similar lower leg mod that you did for Bombshell using those lower legs from Hardtop/Swindle

    Thank's Orio!

Yeah here are the links and like I said before Shrapnel is the best to start on and there hasn't been a Kickback one yet

Well if you hadn't comissioned the last set I wouldn't have even gotten around to starting this so soon, so thanks for ordering those. I mean I know I've seen him do at least 2 other sets but he gets better every time and this set finally put me over the edge
You just gotta get started on them Zmog! It's addicting once you've got your plans together and made that first cut
Thank WP. Just saw the custom Smokescreen you did for Cascadia the other day in person and it's pretty sweet with all that battle scarring and weapons

Wow, those are pretty neat. The transformations must be flawless.

Really nice. This is honestly a project I'm afraid to do, but only because I only have one set of Insecticons right now (the recent TRU Commemorative release).

    Looking forward to your Bombshell.

I love the fact that the original G1 heads go so well in a Universe styling. Can't wait for the finishing touches!

LOL I'll take a little credit for the commissioning cause my ass is way too lazy to do it myself! :p  But yeah I'm glad rumble619 was able to progress himself. Constant communication with him was very key to the making of that project. Oops! Enough praise, I look forward to seeing these critters from you, Lucs!! Keep it up, they're looking badass so far! What are your plans for them, colour scheme?, half-eaten Energon cubes, cubes?
