This is a VERY "minor" custom, and is begging for a LBC tag (like the Joe fans use), but the few people who saw it over in the Renderform feedback thread seemed to like the idea, so I figured I'd give him a thread.

Basically I wanted a *Hydra*. Darkwing(wind) is cool I suppose, but I'm a Masterforce fan, and Hydra is one of my favorite characters.

It struck me while I was raiding Skyfalls at TJMaxx one day that some part-swapping would net me the red-parts I needed for Hydra, and viola:

And with the left over parts, I even netted me a G2 Cyberjet Airraid in the bargain. A fellow board Member is helping me out with a spare EE head so I can give him a proper noggin, but for now he's got the grey 'Bolt head.

Anyway, hope someone else finds the idea helpful, other than the part swapping on this mold being a HUGE PITA, this is a quick and easy change that IMO makes a big visual impact :)

Also, huge credit of course to Venksta and his RenderForm project for creating the slick G1 Powermaster upgrade set :)

Great work. I'm a huge Masterforce fan and I've always wanted to do this.

Love this thing. I have 1 nearly identical to it waiting for the new head to show up. I also swapped out the ratcheting hips, chest flaps, and feet, which is a complete PITA. The hip pins are huge and took a lot of heat to remove.

I thought about going that far, but yeah the parts I did were enough of a PITA, I didn't feel the need to go further!

Plus I think it helps both Hydra and Airraid to have a mix of the tones, helps tie all the parts together.. Or at least that's what I tell myself :lol

Thanks everyone! It was a fun if smple custom to do!

The 1:18 scale Hydra to go with him (And the other Masterforce cast...darn you Wonderfest) will take more effort ;)
