Hi all, just wanted to share something that I've been working on. I'm calling it my RKD: Revival Series (rkd stands for RK Designs). It's been in my head for sometime, but I've always thought that some of the characters made in the Classics/RTS/Universe lines can be better. So I came up with this line of my personal works to satisfy my inner G1...heh...

First up is a re-imagined version of Classics Hot Rod (Rodimus).

    Parts used:
    Body: Sideswipe
    Head: Excillion
    Arm Blasters/Exhaust: Clocker

Took me awhile to work on him, but here he is...

Not really a fan. The fin is... i don't even know. The paint is cool i guess but that flame is bleh. And clocker's pipes either need to be cut down or put on the inside of the doors, or something, anything else. I'd have probably gone with three mixing straws or something.

The mold lends itself rather nicely to Rodimus.

Wow, a lot of great ideas here. I'm probably going to have to steal some of them. :)

Looks really good. What about some alt mode pics. I'd like to see how the spoiler works into his transformation.

Nicely done. The low flame on his chest makes me think of the Japanese Rodimus Prime fire truck concept from the Generations book, which is cool.

What's wrong man? Having a bad day?

The design is nice. The paint is clean. I don't remember seeing anyone use this mold for Rodimus before so it's inventive as well. I think it's a really well done custom!

Is this like that dude that was making dick comments & wondering why everyone thought he was harsh & being an ass? I mean, seriously.

Some like to leave good comments to help others to better themselves, some want to help others, & some like to see cool stuff in general. Call me crazy, but all kitbashers aren't on the same skill level when it comes to certain things. In your opinion, you fell that this is bad, while a lot of us think it's good. Difference of opinion, get over it. No need to drag the thread down & be an ass.

As for the actual work, it's a great idea, it's executed well, & the paint apps do in fact look good. Not sure what is so horrible about this that you felt the need to drop in & be this way about it. You gave some constructive criticism on a couple of things, but you also went about it in a bad way. I do remember another artist using this mold for a Rodimus Prime, I believe. It's still a great idea & cool to see. I like use of that head & the way it all looks. I don't care much for the legs, but that's a mold issue. If you don't like the mold that was used, simply state it & move on. No need to drag it down. Help him know some tips or ideas on how to better improve it, if it were your own work. Comparing it to what you did is pretty damn harsh & even that artist tried his best. He needed tips & help on how to do better, but all he got was shit. Don't be like that.

Not exactly a mold that screams Hot Rod, but other than that good job. The exhaust port guns on the arms look nice.
