I finally made my own Classics Hot Rod custom thanks to the new Rodimus/Cyclonus set. Painted it in my usual style. Flat black base coat, dry brushed steele and aluminum, shades of read and some orange. I did not paint the spoilers. I painted the windows black to cover up the toonish blue paint it had. I also tried a more subtle sunburst style coloring on the hood. I know HOT ROD is not subtle but I just wanted to try something different.

Also pictured is him with the upgrade set on. Just wanted to see what it would look like....and a preview.

    Here's the video.

The way you gunmetal'd the sides of his chest is absolutely brilliant. I almost can't put my finger on it, but it drastically improves his proportions visually.

Still looks cool with the drybrushing and that sunburst pattern on the hood.

I like it. I'd like to see you match the Protector armor with it though, as the flames from it really clash with your intent of subtilty.

Yeah, I'm customizing the armor. That will go back to my regular Classics figure. I just wanted to see what it would look like.

I don't think it "clashes" though. The reds match.

Slick! This looks great man. I was just starting to get tired of all the shattered glass repaints.
