Ok, here is my first repainted figure with a minor mod. Please let me know what you all think about it. I am open to any comments or advice that will help my future work. I learned alot by doing this figure, I hope my next will come out better and complete it faster. In the past I have done some fixing/mods for figures for my daughter but this is the fist figure I have done for myself. Thanks for looking.

The figure: I started with a Solar Storm Grapple. I took him about 85% apart and cleaned, scuffed, and masked for painting. I used Tamiya paints and good quality brush's. I put about 3 coats of the green and purple. I was very pleased on how well the paint worked. I wish I had a way to spray him but it is getting to cold to spray outside in the north east. I attached his crane with a 5 MM metal peg. He can tansform into alt mode but I mainly display in robot mode so I probably never will. I have about 14 hours into him and am waiting on Con symbols to complete him and a little bit of touch up work. I am pleased on how he turned out. The pictures are not the best but I will be taking more once the labels are placed. Thanks for taking the time to look and I will update this when I get the labels placed.

12/24/11 update , placed one con label on his top left arm plate. I want to keep him simple and clean. I am going add some more purple on the bumper below his waist next. I also and added two more better quality pictures. Thanks for looking , have a great holiday :)

Looks good, although personally Id open the cab up and paint the inside of it purple to hide the yellow.

    Does look good though

Very good job, I would have made the crotch/bumper purple just to break up the green, but it's a very nice job and you can instantly tell who it's supposed to be, which is the goal of customs IMO

That sucks about the screws being stripped because I think that's a good idea. (getting rid of the yellow) If you can get it open I'd suggest maybe painting the inside of the windows the same purple. That would really give it the Hook-look! That aside, good work!

I agree, especially since Hauler was a Constructicon colored repaint of Grapple to begin with...

It looks great, don't get me wrong, but it just doesn't scream "Hook"...

Thank you , I am going for hook here and did not think about hauler, I may have to cartoon him up more :)
Thanks man ! :)  I understand what you mean, I wanted to paint inside the cab but had a stripped screw that ended that for me. I think I am going to try to cartoon him up some more, Thanks
