Hey guys, while out shopping at my local Wal*mart I came across two Mirages and two Grimlocks. To my suprise the labeling error of Jetfire as Astrotrain was corrected! Here is a picture.
Oh great, now we are gonna have the anally retentive package varient freaks on the loose driving up the prices of MOC Grimlocks now I thought that this was a running change indeed?
I still have not seen ANY of the second wave in my town. This sucks. Grimlock is my favourite character next to Soundwave.
I must say, they did a ragtag job on Classics Grimlock. Out of all the Classics, he is by far the most clunky and ugly of them. My friend bagged the first card backing, and I snagged him the corrected version for X-Mas, and even though I bought one for myself, I still don't think he's all that pretty.
So does this mean that the corrected packaging Grimlocks have better black paint apps on their spines as well, not the messy kind?
Actually I can tell by just looking at it in the box that it is nicer. My other two have stress marks on the back where the pin for the tower for his gun is, this new one does not.
I love Classics Grimlock! Not my favorite out of the classics deluxes, but I do like it more than Astrotrain, Starscream and Mirage. Tonight I'll check mine's card to see if I have the corrected version or not. -airfox
Could this explain the rarity of Grimlock originally? Maybe a few slipped through and then the error was caught and they stopped producing him for long enough to correct the error and that is why Grimlock was originally so hard to find? Now that he is corrected maybe they'll flood the market with Grimlock. Just a thought. That error may eventually be worth a good chunk of change. Who knows.
Possibly. Personally, I'd like to see indication of whether or not there's been any mold or assembly modifications, such as improved friction or locking for the shoulder-joint-things.
