I was inspired by the ever impressive Spurt Reynolds's custom of the same mold. But I tried hard not to take from it too much just a few ques.

I went with the scheme from the More than Meets the Eye depiction of Scorponok. Best part I like is the Chrome orange I used via clear orange over silver. And I am particularly fnd of the energon heat blades on the claws.

Repainted from a Energon Scorponok this guy took about 3-weeks to do once primed. It sat in a to do box or a very long time.

I also used a acid green to panel line the details of the green base colors. The rest of him was ink washed with coordinating colors. I then went back and drybrushed the edges to give it a worn look.

Even though the Energon molds are a bit clunky compared to recent releases but I think this one is a bit WFCish while keeping the feel of a scorpion.

As always comment, critique, but mostly enjoy.

Agree with your choice of mold. I use him and Lugnut as my classics decepticon enforcers.

    Beautiful paint job!

Great stuff. Never get tired of seeing g1-esque Scorponok customs from this mold. Truly an underappreciated figure that is a perfect update to the original.

^ My quipe is the same as bellyboy and thats the silver visor, but I guess I know why you did it because if you painted it orange it might look odd or something. Still all and all it looks absolutely badass.

Yeah looking back on it I wish I would have clear red over the clear plastic. Might strip the paint and go for that. Depends if purple power engine de-greaser will away the clear plastic.

Holy crap! I passed on this when it first came out, but if it had this paint job I'd be all over it! Hasbro should take notes on this.

Out. Standing. It's like a completely different figure. This gets five Macho Man Randy Savages out of five.

This looks exceptionally nice! You did a great job with this.

I really hope that Hasbro revisits this mold and produces something similar to this at some point.
