Yeah just the Reveal the Shield is being cancelled in lieu of the DOTM movie figures, fortunately Generations is continuing. I too am hoping for a really nice Springer figure.

I'd rather pay for a deluxe or voyager. I'd love a warbot defender though. If they can do it right why can't hasbro? :(

    Springer should happen.
    If he's not a 3x changer, then don't bother.

Well, there is honestly no reason why they can't get to him eventually. And if they realize they can make the mold a cross between Springer and Sandstorm then it's even more likely. Hasbro does love those multi-use molds with a new head. There's probably a few reasons why they haven't yet, but I'm sure they will get to him.

On a side note; whenever threads like this pop up (about future triple changers) I see people pop in and claim that Hasbro intends to never do triple changers again. Did Hasbro actually state this at some point? That triple changers cost too much and don't make enough profit for the development costs? Or is it just one of those cases of "He Tell Me" in this fandom that gets misconstrued as fact?

I was once tempted by FP's Warbot but the thought of having something that isn't official from Makers was cutting me up real bad. :redface2:

I hope we get an updated Springer sometime soon...

I'm sure they'll eventually get to Springer in the next Classics line but until then FP Defender works for me.

I'm sure it a 'he tell me' instance. Grated I don't read EVERY bit of news, but I try to keep updated on convention panels and I've never read that.

Because FansProject primarily sells to adult collectors willing to spend $$$

Hasbro's primary consideration, even for Classics/Universe 2.0/Generations, is to sell these toys to as many people as they can.

How does that have anything to do with Springer? Because they're triple changers? Not good enough.

Don't really understand how the role they played back then has any impact on them getting a figure in recent years, but with this way of thinking your reasons are flawed. Astrotrain did a hell fo a lot less than most other characters from the G1 cartoon who have yet to get toys, most of all Springer.

"Big role" as in one episode?

Wait wait wait, what do you mean small role? He was a main character in the movie and the season 3 opener!

Several reasons that people much better than me have stated in other threads. Including, but not limited to: cost, safety and durabilty. Something along the lines of: make a really awesome collector-oriented deluxe-sized figure and sell it for $80, or make eigth still really awesome collector-oriented but child accesible $10 deluxe figures? Hmmm...

Because triple changers failed at a 10 price point.

And Springer would need to be a Voyager to pull off a helicopter mode that didn't have a blackout backpack.

I'd love to have a classics springer. The fan made version it too expensive and I'm not enthused about the classics repaint version.

They didn't. Because the toys didn't fail.

The way I see it, a toy can either fail due to poor sales, or not meet safety regulations.

I never saw Astrotrain or Octane shelfwarm compared to other toys, some which had much more well-known names attached to them.

Hasbro said that triple changers can be more difficult to produce and one alt mode typically suffers due to this, but they never specifically said it was too expensive to produce them and that they'd never make any more. However people have been putting a big spin on this and making it say that Hasbro won't do any more.
