    Hey gang, here's bee!

I took an RTS Bumblebee and gave him a much needed G1inspired paint job.

His doors are no longer attached to his arms, they are on a hinge system and wrap around his feet. I like the bulked up feet and un armored look to his arms now.

Added LEDs to the eyes, headlights, and tail lights. The tail lights were a pain because the new RTS Bee has solid plastic tail lights unlike the first version which had clear tail lights. I had to fabricate clear lights for the back and then add the LEDs.

Gave him a little flash with a chrome grill and side view mirror lenses.

A WFC Bumblebee pistol and a retro styled vinyl Autobot logo finish him up.

painted in acrylics, enamel, and lacquers and sealed for protection.

Available on Ebay starting tonight! Just click my signature to view and bid.

Love it man! Awesome mod to the feet & you can NEVER go wrong with LEDs eh? (I'd be willing to bet those re-made tailights were a p.i.t.a. to make) Topped off with a super-sweet paint job & you've got yourself a top-notch rendition of G1 Bee! :thumbs2:

It's unreal how you're able to fit the lights and electronics into such a small, transforming figure!

Thanks! Yeah, I made the tail lights from some clear bubble plastic off a figure card. Used an old model building technique called heat forming to mold the tail lights, trimmed to fit and installed the red LEDs. Lots of work but well worth it.

It can be tough for sure. One of the tricky parts is the splitting front end. So there is a complete LED/battery/switch circuit in the left leg and a micro connector connect the right leg's LED to the circuit when in car mode.

The eye's and tail lights share the same switch/battery.

Thank you and click my sig tonight! You may very well own it!

    Thanks a ton Z! :thumbs2:

I think the door/foot mod was very successful, but maybe a bit indulgent since you can simply pop the doors off the arms anyway.

I also forgot to mention the ankles are now on ball joints so he can have better flat footed poses.

Finally I also played around with the upper thighs. You'll notice no seatbacks on them. I removed the seat backs and swapped the right and left thighs so the backside became the front. Cleaned up the knee joint for better range as well.

Really not sure. I bought few sheets of various sizes a few years back and haven't come close to using them all up yet. Reprolabels probably has them just like this.

Thanks for noticing! It's a subtle mod and easily overshadowed by the foot/door mod. But I think it makes a world of difference, I never cared for the seatbacks on the thighs of this figure.

Thanks! He definitely looks more youthful this way, which is kind of how I always viewed G-1 and G-1-esque Bumblebees. He seems to have evolved into something of a superstar warrior in recent iterations.
