Yes, I realize that I have both of these already in the form of the BC-07 set, but these weren't made for myself. This was a commission by Tamo536. First up is Dirge. I dyed the torso, feet, forearms, and nullrays. The thighs were black anyway as they are from a Skywarp. I chopped off the angled tips and glued them on at 90 degrees straight vertical, chopped off the vertical tails and made a notch for them at the front of the main wings and glued them there. I painted him up with Model Master's Metallic Artic Blue. I detailed him with flat black and gloss red and silver. The wings are Model Master's Afrika Mustard, and I gave it a nice orange-wash to help it look more appropriate for Dirge. Nice work RL, I really like that Blue. Any custom Dirge is vast improvement over the BC07 (half-assed) repaint.
Fantastic work ! I really like it, question is where do I get an extra Ramjet. Especially in our place because Ramjet is scarce
He looks good! Man that shiny paint is hard to photograph eh? I'm tempted to commission you to make similar figures for me.
Great stuff right there!! Love the canard winglets up front, and the fact that you made the rear wingtips go up is just the icing!! I love little details like that!! Great paint as well, perfect for somber 'ol Dirge!
the colors are really fantastic and the wing styling is awesome. The only problems I have are the apparently uneven blue in jet mode and what seems to me like oddly placed decepticon symbols. Not a bad job just a bit strange to me
I think the coolest thing about this piece is that the overall flow of it makes him look so much . . . meaner than his Botcon counterpart. I echo the comment about the different blues, but that paint looks like it may have been hard to work with from the get go. Speaking of paint, that color for his wings couldn't be more spot on. The "Classics" style stripes are such a nice touch as well. At first, the D-con symbols sorta bothered me, but the different take on em is a nice surprise. The mod to the wings is slick, too. That's some top notch work there, bro.
Thanks for the comments guys! If I'd been making him for myself, he wouldn't have even had symbols on the wings I figured they should be small and somewhat discreet, as that's how they are on the Henkei version of Starscream. Oh, and yes, this blue was HARD to work with. The One-coat line, which is where the paint I used on Thrust came from, is infinitely easier to use. But its a new line, so its selection isn't as large as the Model-master's line.
I'll echo everyone else--the metallic blue is a great choice. Good work on the wing systems--really brings the character out!
