I saw a thread that mentioned him and had some concept pics. Does anyone know if they will actually make Classics Cosmos or was he a scrapped idea. I know I want one.

They were planning on making him, but marketing scrapped the idea because they didn't think a TF that transformed into a green disk would sell very well.

I really hope they rethink their decision and release Cosmos. If the toy turned out anything like the concept art it would be a masterpiece.

Agreed. Marketing at Hasbro really needs to give the green light for this guy. And, I'd assume that if Classics does well enough that we could see it later on down the road. However, considering they showed his conceptual design art at Botcon... I'd say that he may still not see the light of day. At least not in that form.

Correct me if I'm wrong but he's still on the mystical "short list" right? Haha. I doubt we'll see any of those.

Look at it this way, if he is what got the cut, imagine how much more badass the ones that are getting made in his place must be.

How can you honestly say that? If Classics sell well, then we'll get more. How is that so unplausible?

I hope that fabled "shortlist" gets made, Cosmos included. Hey, Alternators carried on longer than anticipated, why not Classics?

Aaron really really wants to make him still (or at least made it an amusing running joke during Botcon), but another person/set of people over his head say "NO FLYING SAUCERS".

I think Galvatron (not a megatron repaint) was on the short list as well.

There's alot of debat about what's on the "shortlist". There was a big to do about that over the last month after Botcon. Supposedly, it included Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Jazz, Galvatron, Cosmos (as other have said... could be or Aaron made it an interesting joke during the con), the rest of the Dinobots and Arcee (another not sure, because one of the guys said it was and Aaron said he was sure to take her off the shortlist).

I would definetly love to buy a Classics Cosmos if it were released. Someone with a vast knowledge of the web should start a petition to send in to Hasbro asking them to make and sell their Classics Cosmos design. It would kinda be like the one that was made for a toy version of Arcee. Peace out.

It's just my hunch. It's not implausible but I just doubt the "short list" will really be made. Just how I feel. I don't think it's necessarily fact that more will be made if they sell well, it's a possibility yes, but not a sure thing.

I have to agree here. Optimistically, we could have another Alternators scenario on our hands where it's only planned to be so many figure and so many remolds/repaints. However, with the upcoming movie knocking everything (including Alternators) off the shelves... I'd say it's very hard to say what may come back after the movie stuff is off the shelves and Hasbro might not want to do any "collector lines" right away be it Alternators, Classics or something new.

Of course, if they're smart and the movie is a financial success... we may see more than one collector oriented line come back after the movie line is done. But that may just be optimism as I said. Still, when it comes to a balance between optimism and realism... I tend to stay somewhere in the middle. Who knows... even if they bring the Classic line back as a collector oriented line... they may have decided that the stuff on the "short list" isn't something they want to do for various reasons and they may put out other things first.
