"United" Cliffjumper Nothing too major here. The idea with this custom was to not make it look like a custom, but look like it could've come from the factor right out of the box like this. Done - Just removed most of the silver paint. Added some gunmetal accents. Modded the head using the trailer mod. Swapped the inner mid section with biceps from a classics bumblebee. Removed the blue from the head lights. Still to do - Paint roof, glue headlights back on, change the horns on his head, and put a reprolabels autobot badge on his chest.
I like it... simple but great-looking. I'm about half way along this same path. I keep forgetting how awesome that trailer mod is for CJ's head. Sweet! I like the black running boards along the bottom. Nice touch. zmog
I presume this is the tutorial you're talking about? http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/tutor...umper-head-ski-modifications.html#post3227413 GREAT work
Thanks guys!! The thing that probably took the most time, was rubbing all that silver paint off with rubbing alcohol. The head was a little tricky, but if you take your time and start with larger pieces and carefully trim them down until they're right, it'll work great. The gunmetal on the side skirts was sort of to match my Henkei Bumblbee's white side skirts. The plan is for the two to sort of match yet still be a little different. Yup! that's the exact tut I used for the head mod. It is such a great mod.
Here's another good one. http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/ff345/C16MkIII/My Stuff/FxCam_1271222188820.jpg
This is almost exactly what I've had on the back burner for over two months now. I've got the mods done, the painting done, I'm just waiting on a couple parts sent out for other reasons before I can get a topcoat on there. You did that trailer/head mod far better than I did though. LOL
Heheh, I thought so, and I made sure I recleaned it prior to linking it in this thread That's cool, but what's cooler about what mugen_prime did here is use an available resource that can inspire others to try their hand at it. Regardless, thanks for sharing!
Kusanagi, I'm curious to see what you've got up your sleeve with those parts you sent out. The head mod can be a little tricky. I was a little bit worried the whole time I was working on mine that I might screw it up. I'm pretty happy with how it came out though. That Alternity head is kinda cool, but that would be one expensive mod. $50 or more for an Alternity figure, just to swap the head to Classics Cliffjumper.
Thanks guys!! I'm hoping to finish him up this weekend. Painting the roof, adding a reprolables Autobot symbol, and gonna finish off his horns. Hopefully he'll be all done by Sunday. EDIT: So much for that plan. My weekend ended up being much more busy than I expected.
Very nice, I actually had BB in this mold but returned him and picked up CJ, If I had the head pre-modded I would use it but I am not goign to do all that for just the head, it is pretty involved when his old head is just fine. Also, I kind of have always liked the crazy silver on him, makes him seem edgier ha.
Having now started modding my Cliffjumper in a similar fashion, are you not tempted to change the hands for Bumblebee's as well? I've done this and it then looks pretty sweet.
