After looking at the images and seeing that Classics Cliffjumper was nothing more than a straight up repaint of Bumblebee, somethings just didn't sit well with me. If we're going by G1 then Cliffjumper was a remolding of Bumblebee and not a straight up repaint like Thundercracker was to Starscream or vice versa. So I went about trying to make an 'upgraded' version of ol' CJ. First, the alt mode was based off of a Ford Focus rally car and instead of towing a jet ski, he'd be towing an ATV. As far as the robot mode went, I drew the head to give it a more updated look for Cliffjumper while still retaining a lot of his G1 feel. Unlike Bumblebee, Cliffjumper is not going to spy. He's gonna run in hard & fast with guns ablazing, so I had the ATV & trailer transform into a dual gatling gun backpack. He would have the option of flight, but he wouldn't be as nimble as Bumblebee in the air. I also put dual Glass Gas guns on his arms so he'd still have is G1 incarnation's firepower, only 4 times as much. Comments and crits appreciated on both the artwork and the design.

Wow, that's very professional. I wish you'd been at the meeting where they decided to give us a straight repaint rather than a remold.

I like the fact that Cliffjumper has a muscle car look, compared too Bumblebee's tuner altmode. Gives both characters a good contrast. :thumb

Great stuff, and fun to see concept art in the style of Hasbro with the eyes of a fan.

    Keep it up.

Hey, why not show it to the convention organizers? Maybe we can get an updated "Tap-Out." It would look great that way!

At the moment I'm more then likely going to pass on CJ as I'd rather not have a straight repaint of something that shouldn't be a straight repaint. However if Classics CJ did look like that, and in the end they are small changes, I would definately get it.

Great drawing and an amazing design. I especially love the gatlinggun-jetpack part.

you know. hasbro doesnt even need to go that far. If they gave us a slightly different head mold. I would be all over the cliffjumper figure..

On topic. that picture is amazing.
