Just wanted to share this with you guys.I haven't seen it done yet and if someone did my bad.

I just wanted to show a quick and easy head swap.I used WFC Cliffjumpers head.It goes on with no modding what so ever and it doesn't affect transformation at all.All you need to do is paint it up (which I still need to do) and slap it on.The styrene is there so you can see the head better.

I hope this helps some of you out.

Thanks for sharing this up, Rafe! I've been planning to do this (when I find a WFC Cliffjumper), but I wondered how the head would fit. You answered my question and showed it, so now I know.

I think the key to this is painting the figure to match. Just be careful removing that silver! Many moons ago, we had several ruin their Cliffjumpers because of this.

One could always wait on the new Bumblebee from the same mold and repaint it. No need shelling out a premium for either a Classics or Henkei CJ :D

    rumble619, thanks for sharing :thumb

Update us when you find the redish orange to match. I put this on my CJ just to see it in action after I tried it with BB. Not sure I like the look as much as the modded one I made. Thanks for being the first to post pics

Yeah, and that's why I suggested the upcoming (re) release of Bumblebee to use for a base. CJ head + BB + whatever paint you want = nice CJ :)

    Wait, what?

What's the secret to removing the silver? Or is it that there's just no way to do it without removing the red too?

Or is it that the translucent plastic on this mold basically turns to powder the moment it touches rubbing alcohol?

That would be correct! If one isn't careful, removing the paint can severely damage that part!

Ive accually done tihs already just havent posted any pics yet. It is a very easy and effective way of getting the proper look for CJ. And yes, the Clear plastic will have issues if your not careful (I kinda forgot mine in the "drink" for about an hour) But lucky the only real issue i have with mine is the hood is removable now. Ill post pics in a bit to show what I mean. Great Idea come out of nowere.

This head swap is a great idea... but y'know, the more I look at it, teh more this head doesn't really look right to me. Somehow I think I prefer the old modified regular head trick, where you use parts of his Waverider to build up his helmet. Maybe the style of this face and helmet just clash a little with the style of the Classics Bee mold?

I remember when I first soaked my Bumblebee to get rid of the white deco... the two hinge arms that hold his chest in place just disintegrated. However, I just epoxied his chest directly to the tab on his neck plate, and everything still works perfectly now... better, since that way that neck plate won't pop up awkwardly anymore.

But IS there a way to just remove the silver? Or will that invariably destroy the red too? Just curious.

If there is, I haven't been able to do it. For whatever reason, the Silver is harder to take off than the red. I soaked mine in 70% alcohol overnight and the red was done, the silver needed a fair bit of toothbrushing to get off.

It's just the silver on the roof too. I don't remember having any issue with the silver on the car, but maybe it's just because those were soaked in 91% alcohol.

    Anyway, back on topic.

I'm not a fan of the headswap as-is. I think it definitely needs a little work on top of it, just for the sake of at least matching reds, whether you go tomato-red on the head or a deeper red for the body.

Damn I like that.I gotta hurry and get mine painted up.

I understand what most of you guys are saying about using the BB head mod with the trailer. The main point of me sharing this is to show that if you can't do the mod or don't want to take the time to then there's an alternative. It's cheap and easy!!!!!! All that's needed is a little paint.

Thanks everyone for looking and sharing

I found that as a spray lacquer is that the only one people have found? I tend to only use acrylics
