One of the things that bugged me about Classics Bumblebee's head (besides the goatee which belongs to *Cliffjumper*), is that his eyes are black. Makes him look ... kinda creepy.

    So I fixed that.

I had to take both those shots with a flash for the blue to even show up. That giant head ridge shadows both his eyes, and makes it difficult to see ANY blue unless you're up close. That's also why I went with a lighter shade of blue -- it takes a really light color to even be visible from under the forehead shadow.

Nice! Did you dissassemble the head or just use a really tiny brush?

Good looking touch up. I still plan to give mine a faceplate and optic strip like the orginal toy had.

I'm ganna guess that he just used a really tiny brush because I've already taken apart the head and altered mine and the eye's are seperate peices from the two halves of the head and they are actually clear plastic.

It looks black because there is no light passing through. This is simplely rectified.

All I did to mine was drill out the hole where the screw goes in in the back of the head and cut off the post on the inside of the face half then just a little glue dot on the end of each connector post to the halves of the head and stuck them together. Now with a light source being able to pass through the eyes look like a light blue.

It's a really cool effect and cast in the same color plastic as the windows.

I'll show a pic as soon as I take one.

I didn't disassemble the head, because I didn't think there WOULD be a 3rd piece of plastic just for the eyes (there usually isn't). I guess they planned on light piping at some point, then abandoned it? Shame, that.

Yes, I used a really tiny brush. It took a few coats, and I ended up putting a lighter shade of blue over a darker one when I felt it wasn't light enough. It turned out well enough -- having a tiny dark ring of black around the blue portions sets them off from the light silver face.

I'm very curious to see how well the light piping works. Post pics please!

I'd touch up mine but I kind of want to leave it as is. Maybe if I ever end up with two I can do it, because it looks much nicer.

I love the blue eyes. He looks even closer to his old G1 cartoon self that the Classics are based on.

Ya know, I was looking at the Cliffjumper repaint and I noticed he didn't have a goatee (it was painted silver like his face) and his eyes are blue. When he comes out, I plan on doing an eye swap between the two if he indeed has blue eyes like the images on www.transformers.com shows.

I did this on my Bumblebee too. I just unscrewed the head, popped the eyes out and put a coat of flat blue paint on - it looks really good. I did the same thing with Alt. Wheeljack awhile back.

And for anyone who's worried about screwing it up, it's really simple - unscrew the head, po the eyes out and paint them, then wait for them to dry and pop 'em back in.
