For everyone that has followed along with the progress of this reshell and have offered kind words and patience through some unplanned event I wish to say thank you for your understanding. My client has been awesome through this process as well as very patient and I hope he approves of the completed product.
This is a Classics Bumblebee reshell to a VW Beetle. The client wanted Bumblebee to look as if he had been sitting for decades in a junkyard and to be weathered accordingly, as well as removing Bumblebee’s gotee to give him more of his G1 look.
Bumblebee was painted with HOK lacquers, Model Master enamels, Tamiya acrylics, and Citadel paints then sprayed with Testor’s Dullcote to seal in all the weathered goodness.
The weathering process was inspired by Zartanman’s cosmic rust tutorial which really added some awesome texture and realism to the weathering of Bumblebee.
I have been asked what type of hinges I used for all the moving parts....they were all handmade and I will try and show how it was done later!
Thanks again for your support and encouragement along the way, without further ado I present to you Bumblebee!

Beautiful work, my friend! There are a few small gaps here and there, but it certainly doesn't take away from the hard work that went into this. I love the weathering and the rust detailing. It was very cool seeing this go from start to finish (been watching it for a while). Glad to see you got him done!

The gapping is unfortunate, but the paint job is out of this world. Incredible.

    Thanks man...
Thanks man, since he was basically a rust bucket and banged up it left room for it to not line up perfect. Prowl and the others will not be this way since they will be cleanly done and will be harder to pull off, the paint work and weathering made up for whats not lined up haha. Thanks for the support along the way!
Thanks man...no no no not on CJ haha.
    Thanks again bro
Thanks man, it was a 1/32 scale kit.

    Thanks bro!
Thanks man, luckily since this guy was to be heavily weathered and banged up it worked for the look. Prowl and the next waves of reshells won't be like this I promise ya that ; )

Wow man, that is truly a work of art. No one can deny this. I like the level of wear-and-tear detail Bumblebee has on him. The thing I love the most though, is the simple removal of the gotee. It gives him back that look of innocence I feel was missing in the classics version of him.

Once again, fantastic work on this. I can't wait to see your future projects. ^_^

Thanks man, I agree the removal of the gotee added a lot more G1 feel to him. Believe me bro, I have a lot more in the works!

Looks great. Those gaps are not so nice, but you can make up, that his is, because he spent the years at the junkyard. His robot mode looks really great. I don't like Bumblebee that much, but if he was available like this, I'd probably get one.

Thanks man, the gaps were intentional...as if he was worn out and falling apart from sitting in a junkyard.
My next reshells will not be like this one ; ) things will be lined up and looking like new!
