True. I just usually see Wheeljack as a car with a bit more testosterone, y'know? :)

I'm eager to see how it turns out!

the ears are from a g1 wheeljack head, and i used sculpy to mold the mouth. i had to dremmel the sholder bars that hold the chest in plase back a but to fit the ears, and still have rom to turn and look. . it's a very simple kitbash, only need to repaint the car shell and design a new set of stickers.

I'm bassing my design off the rally cars of today. a few modifications will be done to the car mode as well. i have a set of wings ready to adapt and just working on fitting in a launcher some how.

I love the work you have done on the head. It sounds as if you are off to a great start. That is not a car I would have gone with for WJ personally but, hey, to each his own.

I do see what you mean about the really car idea now. The more I think about it, the more it works for me.

pay no attention to the primer, paint app is nowhere near ready to be applied, just testing the fit. and it's perfect. EXACT same clearence as with the all plastic tires

Heres an idea, why don't you use the Spoiler as the wings? That way, he won't need removable parts! (aside form the launcher.)

That is pretty cool. I can't wait to see the finished product. I've been thinking about doing a head swap on a BB/Cliffjumper, but I don't think the head that I would use would fit or not. I'm thinking about swapping his head out for Grimlock's, but I'm thinking it might be too big. I'll have to see once I get a Grimlock, or just his head. Nice work. Peace out.

Here's a thought... if you attach the chest (car roof) to the plate that holds the head, you don't even need the bars on either side of his head. You could cut them out entirely to make as much room as you need for the head. The neckplate becomes the joiner for the chest.

I had to do that to my Classics BB when that brittle clear plastic cracked and crumbled at the hinge. I just attached the neckplate to the roof with a blob of shoe-goo (my catch-all heavy duty glue for hidden parts) and it holds really well. I imagine that with a small tab of plastic or metal to work as a bridge, it would be even more so. If you make the join while he's in his car-mode configuration, everything lines up perfectly for the robot mode once it sets.

Also, as a fringe benefit, his head no longer pops up now when I rotate his arms too far forward. Overall, he's much more secure.

The more I think of it, a rally car -does- suit Wheeljack, if you think back to his TechSpec bio... the outrageously crazy stunt driver. It's funny that it's rarely referred to that Wheeljack was supposedly the most skillful Autobot driver.
