So I finally decided to grab a Generations Red Alert, part swapped a few pieces with a spare Sunstreaker, made a mold out of last year's Botcon Breakdown, and viola! Before anyone asks, I probably won't make the other Stunticons or Menasor anytime soon: I just wanted to make a Breakdown for my Classics collection. :)

Update: I added some better pictures with some comparisons to Botcon G2 Breakdown.

    Outstanding work.
    What's the head made from?
What kind of paints to get that glow?

Looks great! So, how hard was it to make a mold out of the botcon head?

I love it when customs still have minimal paint updates and a majority of original unpainted plastic to give them that official "factory-made" toy look.

Not only does it look clean and fantastic, but it gives us all hope that with a little paint and a $10 toy, we can make one too.

    Bravo sir, Bravo.

Nice work! I would love to get ahold of one of those heads for the Breakdown I'm doing.

Thanks man, I've been lurking some but I've been pretty busy lately. I need to catch up on where you are at with your Constructicons.

Thank you sir - that's exactly what I strive for. I want my customs to fit into my existing collection so I like to paint and modify them as little as possible while still making them look like the character I'm creating.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone! To answer some questions, I created a mold from the BotCon G2 Breakdown head using an Alumalite mold making kit (you can buy these online or at Hobby Lobby). The paints I used were a set of Testors gloss paints - I did a lot of sanding and polishing to smooth it all out and give it a good shine. The white is all originally from Red Alert with rubbing alcohol used to remove his decals. I also part-swapped some pieces from an extra Sunstreaker I had so there is less red in him.

    Very nice work, bravo indeed!

I am digging the G1/2 head-with the square-sided helmet and goggles combo...it's really cool to see a project go right back to the roots!
