Breakdown was the only Stunticon I owned as a kid and therefore one of the few Con cars I had, which is my favorite alt mode for a TF.

I knew after hearing about the Hasbro release of Red Alert that I would be able to make a Breakdown for myself. I took a Sunstreaker for the grey parts, removed the red paint off the white parts and the best part, I think, is the new head I used from energon Towline. Added a bit of paint and viola!

I decided against the orange hood because I like the smooth white car hood the way it is. Not sure about the big guns but I might add holes in the car mode to create an attack mode like the original toy had.

Thanks a lot. I looked through all my extra heads and finally settled on this one. Also checked all previous custom versions of this guy and for some reason I just couldn't find one that felt right. I still don't think this is perfect but it at least looks evil and kind of boxy

I knew someone would eventually make a Breakdown out of Red Alert. Nice part swapping.

    Thank you
    Thanks

Thanks a lot RL. Always appreciate hearing from you
Thanks Superssquads7s! I also appreciate hearing from you. I miss the old Alt customs days we had
Thanks man. If anything is my signature thing it's part swapping, paint striping and simple paint apps for a clean fairly chip proof final product :D

:lol  It's always good to see people who have been around for a while still creating and posting their work. :thumb

I miss the old days, too, but time marches on, I once heard. It's been interesting to see the interests of kitbashers shift and the products of this (to an extent), though. I always enjoyed your "light work"; you've always had a way of making the keenest choices with those things. It's been one of the many things I've always enjoyed about your work :)

My favourite thing about this custom is the overall cleanliness of this. Astonishingly tidy. That said, I'll include great colours and a great head to top it off.

This ranks up high as one of the best customs of my favourite Stunticon, it's that shiny to me.

Unless I've missed it, I don't think it was mentioned what head was used. I'd really like to know.

Otherwise, this custom is VERY cool. It looks like something I could buy at the store and I love that. Keep up the great work, man!

That's what I want to do! But still haven't found Red Alert yet :(

I want to go with more blue though, but I like your minimalist approach :)

And that head is very cool, might have to track one down!

I'll be honest I love part swapping customs far, far more than ones made with things that can chip and flake. It's simple, elegant and totally recognisable as the character. I really like it :)

Breakdown looks awesome! But shouldn't Dragstrip have an extra set of front wheels? He was based on that famous French racing car that had four front wheels.

Whoa! totally digging that the orange part being only on the upper chest and not the entire hood, it looks nice and I can appreciate when an artist takes liberties to do things to his own liking & vision. Your Dead End looks great as well.. are his gold parts plated or painted?
