Any suggestions on which toy to use as a modern update for this character?
Deluxe scale, so FP doesnt count.

    Thanks for any ideas!

Also who to use for Brawl??

For Blast Off, I think Astrotrain would work nicely as long as you don't want to combine.
As for Brawl, Heavytread would work especially if you want to make them combine.

FoC is pretty much the only good choice.

I was thinking the Hasbro Astrotrain too, and keep Henkei version as Astrotrain proper.

Heavytread is smaller than deluxe no?

Im also thinking a RID Bruticus version... with Astrotrain (white), Botcon Spinister, Botcon Clench, United Megatron (as Brawl), but then who to use as Swindle???

Well, for Swindle. I think you should get a Hound, paint him yellow, and give him a new head.

RID he is green (and known as rollbar), that does scream Hound, but I cant have 2 green Hound molds! ugh...

    so close yet so far

The Yellow does make sense for a G1 counterpart (Scorch?)

Astrotrain's body was used in the last two TFCC magazine comics for Blast-Off.

2013 Figure subscription service toy perhaps?

He was just suggesting it as a future possibility.

More of a custom work than anything (and unfinished at that), but I've got an Astrotrain with Grimlock's head as Blast Off, and a one-handed Dlx Megatron with a slightly customized Dlx Optimus Prime head as Brawl.

2014 more likely. I'd buy it.
