Honestly, they're both the same toy so I guess it depends on your color preference. I'll say the mold is great and you can't go wrong if you buy both of them!

BB hands down, the other is red BB, not Cliffjumper.

These should both be in our own toy gallery.

Our resources pages has them both covered:

    Bumblebee
    Cliffjumper

I think they both work well for the characters - the stature is more of a Cliffjumper, he looks more like a small, tough guy Autobot than the traditional slim depiction of Bumblebee. However, the head is definately a Bumblebee head, and the new paint deco on Cliffjumper is not as appealing as the one on Bumblebee. I would personally say that Bumblebee is the better choice of the two.
There's an exclusive Legacy of Bumblebee set coming soon that includes a more accurate redeco of Classics Bumblebee, along with Animated and Movie Bumblebee. I personally would suggest you pick that up. It'll probably be cheaper to afford than getting the older two on the secondary market, if you don't already own them.

Personally I think the mold works better as BB. If the head was at least remolded it would have been good for CJ...wish I could have snagged the CJ upgrade kit but it was way too spendy for me.

So, without my rambling, I'd say go for BB. The deluxe 3 pack with Classics, Movie and Animated BBs has a great paint job, and you could get it at retail.

if they did a henkei cj with a new head, id buy it and thats highly unlikely (and people with the cj upgrade kit would be kicking themselves). id just go with classics or henkei bb (they're probly roughly the same price now)

The head is a hybrid of the two characters, so it really doesn't make sense to remold for one, and not the other. Bumblebee's face is traditionally very differently shaped.

Personally, I preffer Cliffjumper. With the exception of a couple of older Lamborghini models, I hate yellow cars. The silver splash graphics on CJ help him look like a proper rally car, where Bumblebee just come across as a rice boy. Factor in that I have never liked the Bumblebee character, and it's not a difficult choice, for me.

My Cliffjumper seems to have poorer quality plastic than my Bumblebee. It feels a lot lighter and thinner than BB, especially the doors and head.

Regardless, I much prefer Bumblebee's colors and deco.

Either way the mold is awesome so you win. Personally I prefer the head mold for Bumblebee and would have loved to have gotten an upgrade kit but good luck getting one for cheap.

I'd say both based on the mold they share. It's a great mold. I would try to find scale weapons for them if you can't get a hold of the CJ upgrade kit. I have BB holding a futuristic tommy gun like weapon and CJ holding a rocket launcher. Both from the SD Gundam line.
