Pretty much what the thread says: I just started collecting in December, so I'm way behind. With this last haul coming next week though, I was fortunate enough to catch up on all of the Classics molds (from ultra down to legend), and with Warpath coming next week too, I'm actually current.

What I'm wondering though from here is, what is a cool line to get into next? With the "drought" that is likely ocming with DOTM, it'd be cool to get a good dig into another line.

I'm really thinking cybertron since I have some of the leader figures like Megs/Galvatron and the versions of leader prime knocked out, but, what are some of you guys' favorite toy lines?

cybertron is an awesome line! i'm personally in the same boat, so i'm slowly cherry picking headmasters and pretenders, and working my way back into a G1 collection. beast wars is also a really cool/fun line to collect, especially once it gets into BW2 and neo

Right now my focus is on Classics and MPs. I am all caught up on classics sans a couple of Botcon/Takara exclusives and a couple of Henkei figures I still want. I would go with MP line. Love the figures, pretty easy to track down, fairly few figures, but the only drawback is the price. Right now everything I don't have from that line is $200+.

Alternators can be had relatively cheaply right now as well, and I love them, just kind of fell off on buying them right now.

Even though I don't collect them anymore, Alternators were one of my favorite lines, those and the TFC (Transformers Collection, not the 3rd party company) Box G1 Reissue sets. Those would be my recommendations, though Animated has slowly won me over, I like the uniqueness of the molds, and some of them are just plain fun.

RID has the best Transformer molds outside classics and maybe animated (if you like the style that is). Armada, Energon and Cybertron were a big step back for the most part (with some notable exceptions).

So yeah, go after RID. It shouldnt be that expensive either; it was obscenely popular and everything except RiD Scourge (black Laser Optimus Prime) had a big run.

You might like some of the Alternity line, I only own Cliffjumper but that's because he replaced my Classics version due to looking different from Bumblebee.

It depends on how desperate you are to keep the flow of plastic crack incoming, you might be better off waiting for classics to return again or look for figures that might fit in with them or get some commissioned pieces in instead. Classics is my main line too but I still have some G1 pieces like the dinobots, Rotorstorm, Metroplex and Scorponok out with them too.

Transformers Animated. It's one of the only lines that I've really attempted to get 'em all. The molds are absolutely fantastic to mess around with and they're show accurate too, which is always an added bonus. Some of the figures from that line are the best we've ever had IMO; it's hard to hold Leader Ultra Magnus and not think of him as one of the best Leader sized figures ever.

Damn... lotta' love for Alternators. I'm surprised bc it's not a line I've seen brought up a ton.

Is Binaltech the takara alternative to it?
