Who here would buy a TF Universe Classics 2 Perceptor? I wonder would this version be a directly based off of the G1 (microscope mode) or would something else would be better for the times.

I enjoy the roleplay alt modes. So Perceptor as a microscope could work... especially since Nerf Gun Megatron and no doubt Movie Scalpel will show. People buy roleplay that turn into bots.

There's irony in this comment... I know it.

Also I would get a perceptor toy. Hell yea, it would be awsome.

There was a time when I would say the idea of them making a new figure of the G1 microscope Perceptor would be laughable. But with the advent of the movie scout, Scalpel, I don't see why not.

The only problem I could see is that they probably wouldn't make it a large scale class figure, in fear of it not selling too well. Hence probably why Scalpel is a scout class.

I'd love a deluxe or voyager Perceptor. It'd be a definite buy for me.

I'd most likely buy a Classics/Universe Perceptor. Especially if he was a Deluxe class figure with his microscope-mode (makes sense to me). Though I'd be ok with a toy of his Animated counterpart too, but I think that's less likely.

There was already a 2006 Classic Legends Perceptor based on Legends of Cybertron Red Alert, so it is highly unlikely that another would be made, unless if it would be a repaint of Universe 2.0 Classic Ultra Onslaught or Generation 1 Series Countdown (Also based off Cybertron Red Alert). I question your logic on this one. Why would the existence of a Legends figure with that name preclude the possibility of a larger toy?

Yeah, Legends don't automatically negate a larger figure.... just ask Legends Onslaught, Rodimus, Cliffjumper, Ramjet, Blades, Tank Megatron, or the TWO Classics Legends Bumblebees.

Oh, and to answer the original post, I would buy a new Universe or Animated Perceptor toy so fast that my credit card would break the sound barrier.

Legends class figures have absolutely NO effect on any potential larger figures (Hasbro has even said this themselves). A good example of this is Hound, who has gotten a Legends class figure, a RH figure, and a Deluxe class figure, all int he same line (Universe). A larger Perceptor figure is certainly possible. He isn't, as far as we know, on Habro's current to-do list, but he's certainly a possibility. I think that if we do get a larger Perceptor at some point, it'll either be a new mold homaging his G1 form, or a mold of his Animated form (although that's looking less and less likely anymore).

That also had a "base" mode where the bed opened up into a lab and the telescope turned into a microscope.

I just had a weird notion.

What if when Hasbro brings universe/classics back around, they do a Perceptor figure, in a G1 aesthetic, but with the Animated's alt-mode?
