I have a very strong suspicion that the feet of the Classics 2-pack Megatron are misassembled.
Now this could be a single problem, but the fact that the box pictures also show them wrongly assembled makes me think this could be factory standard.

Feet of Megatron out of package:

Seemingly nothing wrong there, but see how it looks transformed, the feet kibble actually hampers the turret movement:

Now that doesn't look right at all. So what I did was screw open the legs and switch the feet around AND flip them over. Here's what it looks like in tank mode:

And this is how the feet look now:

Coincidentally this is how it's drawn in the instructions as well.

My guess is that because the (true) back part of the feet is wider, the person who wrote the factory assembly instructions thought that should be the front of the foot when in robot mode (that's how Megatron comes packaged).

Bad part is that they used some glue to assemble the legs! So in addition to removing the leg screws (2 each), you'll need to pry the leg halves open. I managed to damage one peg doing that, so consider yourselves warned!

    Thanks for the heads up!

Man, the green really bugs me... But the mold looks nice.

How glued up is the rest of the bot? Cause he deserves a repaint :p

    Yeh, no kiddin :thumbdown

And Megs is really.........green. Definitely has more of a Megastorm look than a Megs but eh, I guess thats what we can expect for a tank Megs.

Optimus looks pretty cool tho! :thumb

Don't really know as i only did the legs, but the obvious lack of screws on other parts of Megatron doesn't bode well for kitbashers.

@ Ktulu, it's pretty obvious once you transform him. When I checked the instructions that just confirmed it.

Could be fixed by the time he's released, since there should be quite a bit of time until then, or maybe this is Ransack part three, and will always be assembled this way. Either way, it's good to keep in mind, and if I get this two-pack, I can handle those glued pegs.

Interesting bit about Ransack - never knew that.

Is there a guide somewhere to which guys are misassembled and how to correct said misassemblies?

I just performed the operation (before finding this page) and had no problems.. Only one of the pegs broke, but it fits back together perfectly like it never happened.. As long as you screw him together he is fine. I never do repair work to TFs and this was a breeze...

Bic, would you mind posting some more pictures of this toy? I'm still on the fence about getting it.

I did this repair myself- first time I've taken a screwdriver to a 'bot. I like it a lot this way, but one of the pegs cracked, and now the foot is really loose. Maybe I'll buy another one as a replacement, and let some lucky kid get one with fixed feet, albeit one's a bit loose.

Hmm, never would have notcied this flaw. Not too impressed with this Megatron anyway so the fix time isn't worth it to me. Most likely won't ever transform this Megs anyway.
