So I just picked up Silver Streak from my local Wal-Mart for a surprising $7.77, and I noticed that one his crown points was red and the other was silver (grey). Not remembering what his G1 color scheme was cause frankly I don't even remember him from the show, I thought "Hey, cool. That must be why they call his "Silver Streak". But then I looked online and found that none of the other versions of him are like this and in fact all of the Classics 2.0 images of him for two red crown points.

Has anyone else seen this and how do we feel about it?

    UPDATE: Pics.

Sounds like a paint error - mine is fortunately perfect! :D

Get a red sharpie and fill it in. Or paint it. I wouldn't want a Bluestreak with one silver crest.

Wait, so Silver Streak is actually Bluestreak? When the hell did that happen? Bluestreak I remember, but for some reason I thought he was a cop car. And blue for that matter. I'm so confused!

Bluestreak was never blue. He may have originally (pre-release) been named because of an intention to use the blue and silver Diaclone Datsun for him, but he's actually only ever been silver (except for in the cartoon when they gave him the black hood). His name is stated as coming from his being "as fast as a blue streak", and from his tendency to "talk a blue streak", as shown in issue 1 of the Marvel comic (and from the pen of Bob Budiansky, who actually named him, so he'd know). Although Bluestreak himself never understood the phrases. :p

He became known as Silverstreak when Hasbro decided to bring him back in the Alternator line after years of not using the name Bluestreak, and finding they couldn't get the trademark for it.

The cop car was Prowl, and not blue.

Ramrider is good, Ramrider is wise. Personally, I prefer to call him Bluestreak because he looks a lot more like his cartoon counterpart than the G1 toy.

Actually, he was renamed Silverstreak in 2003 when the re-issue of the G1 toy came out. The Alternators version came out in 2004.

I know. He looks a lot better as a two-tone car. If Takara does him for Encore in silver/black I'm all over it. Or hell, I'll take blue/silver as well.

    I'm being worshipped - w00t! :lol

However, also oops - I'd forgotten about the reissue. Thanks for knocking me off my pedestal, DC! :p

And matter of fact, I'm in two minds as to whether to repaint him all silver when I get one. It's a conundrum and a half...

I'll tell you all what, I'm not going to touch him. First off, he was "born" that way. And I don't discriminate against birth defects. And second, I kinda like the thought of him having a "silver streak" on his head. It separates him even more from Prowl.

By the way, who was the other op car in G1? Am I thinking about Red Alert? Or was there another?

Cop cars? You might be thinking of Red Alert, or the Protectobot Streetwise, or there was also a Micromaster named Stakeout.

Yeah it sounds like a mistake. Looks like you should either return it and get a new one or buy some red paint and paint it yourself. I don't think it would be too hard.

What he said. Although if it is Red Alert you're thinking of, he wasn't a cop car, he was a fire chief's car.

And Deathnoble, Smokescreen wasn't a cop car either, he was a rally car.

Oh jeez. I totally misread his post.

I thought he was asking what was going to be the next repaint of the mold.

    >.< My bad.
