I'm sure this has been discussed before, but... ...will Hasbro re-release any of the Classics 1.0 molds (repaints of course) under their new "Universe" banner? I think the F-15 mold would look cool painted up as Sunstorm or possibly (however unlikely) as Air-Raid (G1 Aerialbot).
i too would buy a sunstorm...also, mirage as drag strip would be awesome....maybe a remold of bumblebee as hubcap would be cool...
...I'm thinking down the road, if they ever offer a Jazz or Bluestreak - repaint him as Dead-End, repaint Sideswipe as Breakdown, maybe HotRod as Wildrider, Mirage as Dragstrip (as Lumpy said) and a repainted Opti-prime as Motormaster and...VOILA... Convenient TARGET or TRU 5-pack Stunticons exclusive just in time for Christmas. It'll never happen, but one can dream...
Certian figures might get re-released but i wouldn't hold out for a full wave 1 reissue. I think Optimus, Megatron, Bumblebee, and Starscream might get the re-issue nod.
Mirage wouldn't be a suitable mold for Drag Strip- in addition to the name no longer being available (he'd probably be called "Decepticharge"), the defining feature of Drag Strip is being a six-wheeled car. Retooling Mirage to add two more wheels would be very strange, and the color scheme doesn't really suit the mold well, as Drag Strip's purple helmet and light orange body are rather clashing by modern standards. The Air Raid idea is great, however, particularly if his bio stated that he was a former Seeker who defected to the Autobots.
I'm sort of hoping Prime gets re-released, but with a trailer and a Classics Roller. As for Megatron, I dunno, I'm not sure exactly what they could do with him. Release him in G1 colors like Takara, I suppose, or add a few accessories (mace? sword?). I still think we'll get a Classics Sunstorm somewhere down the road, whether it's from Hasbro, Takara Tomy, or as an exclusive of some sort. And when we do... I'll be there, pre-order in hand. Judge me if you will, but I love Sunstorm's gaudy color scheme.
It seems redundant, considering Takara's Henkei line has just been released. Besides, the G1 colours weren't well received by everyone. Bumblebee, anybody?
I would LOVE a Stuntacon set. Whether that happens or not who knows? I also think they will use Sunstorm at some point.
Honestly, I would hate it if they took characters with such high potential such as the stunticons, and released them as a simple repaint on molds that barely resemble them in the first place. In this new Universe line, the figures are updated versions of original characters and the influences of those originals clearly shows in their design. Even if they are dramatically different then the G1 versions, it's still very clear that these new updates are based on the old toys. Having said that, if they decide to re-release the original classics to help pad out the line, or even repaint some as some offhanded G1 characters as an exclusive or something, I would have no problems with that. Infact I somewhat expect it.
I'd love a Sunstorm even if I have plans of making a cistom one (I've been saying that for over a year, and the extra Starscreams and Ramjets I bought are still in the packages ) Hell, they could release as many seekers in as many random color schemes as they want and I'd buy them all.
The repaints I'd really like to see were already released at last year's Botcon, and since I don't have hundreds of dollars of disposable income.... However I think that the tank version of Megatron that came in the two pack with Optimus could easily be modified to make a decent Warpath.
I don't want Stunticons that can't combine into Menasor. Same applies to all the other gestalt teams.
Definitely sunstorm, or as others and I have suggested using the Bumblebee mold and coming out with Runamuch and Runabout, but giving them a weapon instead of the ski cruiser.
