So with Generations Wheeljack on the way, I’m one step closer to having the complete 1984 Ark crew in Classics/Universe/Generations form. I skipped the legends Brawn and Beachcomber that came out a while ago because they were so out of scale with the rest of the group. I was thinking of subbing in HFTD movie-style Brawn, but his different aesthetic makes it hard to justify.

That said, I really want a Trailblazer to complete the G1 “Deluxe Cars” roster, and the more I consider it the more I think HFTD Deluxe Ironhide might fit the bill. He’s Deluxe, he’s a black off-road vehicle, and his detachable weapon could easily pass for a force-field generator in my mind. The only thing is his movie-verse aesthetic which while very different from G1, seems a little less obtrusive with the Classic style than movie-style Brawn.

Anybody else think Deluxe Movie Ironhide makes a good Classic Trailblazer stand-in?

And just who in the world is "Trailblazer"? :p

EDIT: The guy who's missing from the G1 "Deluxe Cars" roster is "Trailbreaker". His most recent release, a legends, was called "Trailcutter" due to loss of trademark.

Funny, I was just looking at Reprolabels today. Here is an idea from movie Ironhide:

That image that Alucard posted is cool looking and all, but after six years of living through the movie times, Ironhide is almost as much a bulked up black pickup as he is that weird minivan (whatever he was) from the cartoons to me.

..and Trailbreaker deserves his own toy.

I agree, he needs his own toy. I wonder if they did the Legend size so that they test to see how that does before they think of doing a deluxe.

Use Trailcutter and pretend he stumbled in front of Wheeljack's shrink ray. And forgot he had a forcefield, like in every single Marvel issue he appeared in. :p

What's wrong with "Trailblazer"? That's what Optimus Prime called him in A Prime Problem. :)

A to-scale cardboard cut-out of Trailbreaker's profile art (which profile is your choice).

There is nothing out there that makes a good stand in without modifications.

If what some are saying is true and Classicverse will take nother break (althought it was said by Hasbro that it won't) but if it is, then they need to save figures for the return.

Trailbreaker will be a star figure to be made upon the return. There are some big names still out there like Shockwave and with him being in the movie you know they will make him now.

I have faith that Trailbreaker will be made, it even has a retool attached to it....This is a no brainer and Hasbro has been good with the no brainers. Heck Hasbro has been extremely good with everything for us fans recently.

Movie Stockade? The alt mode is the nearest thing in Deluxe-size.

Honestly, with the characters popping up in RTS/Generations as of late, I'd just wait. I can't see them not doing him.
