You know you can flip the tailwings and they are so tight that a little piece broke off and now I have to get another one.:(

That sucks. Just return it. Case closed (assuming you bought it at an actual retail store). Good luck!

Yeah joints like that you should always put the preasure on the joint itself. In other words fold it in pushing closer to the joint rather than further away like the top of the wing. That way it pivots smoothely rather than stressing the peice of plastic. Its a shame to see a great figure get hurt though. I hope you get to replace it.

Sorry to hear that, unintentional battle damage isn't fun.

I know I'm mighty careful when transforming those tailfins on mine.

That's why I never moved them after the first transformation. I leave 'em because I just *know* they're going to break or snap or something.

I also have the same worry about Astrotrain's chest/Tail fin....but it's nowhere near as bad as 'Screamers.

I always thought that those wings were a bit too tight. I sweat a little when I get to that step in transformation.

Buy a new one in a reatil store. Open it carefully. Replace it with broken one. Bring back to retail store, advising the nice lady at the returns dept that its broken and you want your money back. They'll send it back to Hasbro anyway, so no biggie.

Astrotrain's chest/tail fin is loose and floppy on mine, but that part on my Starscreams are absolutely solid. I almost thought someone slipped with the glue at the factory the first time I tried to transform them. I'm thinking this may be a candidate for the rotary sander at some point. Removing a milimeter or so of the blocking plastic would probably make it work just about perfect.

I could almost hear Starscream scream, "Ow my wing!" Much the same way as he did in the 86 Movie about his foot. Sorry to hear about it though, I'll be extra careful with my Classics Screamer when I finally free him from his packing. Thanks for the pictures too.

    Ugh.. that's bad luck..

Hope you get a new one. I just got mine last night and when I transformed him the first time I had a hard time believing that was one of the steps as moving the fin was nearly impossible. Best way to do it is how Galavatom said: Put the pressure on the joint itself. Hope your next Starscream fares better!

That's rough. Of course, it would be even harder to stomach if it were MP Starscream you were talking about. Everyone seems to be having one hell of a time with Screamer these days.

Oh mine wer tight however you just gotta be careful with those kinds of joint. take it nice and slow and instead of moving the wing from the tip, you have to literally put you fingers at the joint. One of mine was extremely tight and it made it just fine, now its just right.

Just a single pin that needs to be taken out with a good small punch and hammer. I've done it on other Transformers, and it's a pain, but it can be done.

would perhaps rubbing some Vaseline into the joint help loosen it up?
