So, are the mini-cons really part of classics? I mean, to me they are not. I want to be complete with the "classics" however I am not totally sure they are part of it. I feel just the ones that say Classic deluxe or voyager on the box are the classics.

They have the same packaging and are shipped with the Deluxes and Voyagers. They're classics.

I don't count them either. I pretty much just follow the ones that look like direct charecter updates.

I AM aware of that LOL. They do not say "classic" on them anywhere and are not updates of any G1 charecters like the deluxe and voyagers are.

The website claims they are, but this is an interesting statement.

I say it's interesting because the way it's worded, it sounds like "here are deluxes, voyagers, and legends...and oh btw here are mini-cons too."

I was under the understanding that the mini-con molds were originally designed to be used in the minicon vs packs from the cybertron line. Thats why the teams dont really match up well. My guess is they were pushed back either because of the lack of basic pricepoint in the classics line or because the vs pack price point did poorly

Im just tryin to justify saving me some cash LOL. I have the dinobot minicons because they kinda resemble the G1 dinobots...the others Im not so sure about. I am very anal retentive and it is itching at me to get the minicons since there are only 6 packs, however I wont get doubles of them like the voyagers/deluxes/magnus vs skywarp.

I don't count them as Classics. Much like how I never counted the Minicon two-packs as part of Cybertron.

I count 'em. They don't have Minicon symbols molded on them, and they have Autobot and Decepticon symbols. They're Classics.

That makes even less sense though. That means there is a Decepticon named Broadside who transforms into a tank, and an Autobot named Thunderwing.

I like them and I'm buying them, but I don't really count them as Classics. I'm not keeping sealed doubles like the rest.

I'd say "if it doesn't have the rub sign, it doesn't count as a Classic" but then I remembered Megatron, so there goes that idea.

Short answer to the topic question:

    Technically, yes. Spiritually, no.

Draw your own conclusions about which is more important to you.

Why don't you stop trying to pigeonhole things into the little box you need, and just accept them the way they are? Classics has no fiction, it is not based on anything. They're just homage toys. Whatever hasbro drops in the line is part of the line. The only 'canon' for these toys is the club comic, which i'm sure will feature the mini-cons, as the club comic is linked to TFU/CYB

Meh, if you like them (why?) then buy them, if you think they're retarded heaps of absolute crap (yep), then don't buy them. Easy.
