One thing really baffles me ! how did Hasbro/TakaraTomy manage to make Legends Jazz ! It kinda looks like a heavily modified Pretender Jazz. But as far as I know Porsche/VW still have not given any permission to use their design, logo etc in any kind of war toy. Did Hasbro/TakaraTomy do something illegal here ?

Legends Jazz is a rough resemblance to a Porshe 911, he is way too long. Similiar to Universe Sunstreaker taking bits of the Lamborghini Countach (grills over the rear window), Diablo (the back end) and MurciƩlago (the front end).

It's one of those cases where the toy is just different enough from the real thing. It's a car that resembles the original but is not completely bound to it.

Yeah I get what you are saying but he is JUST different enough for them to get away with it.

Like the Botcon Jazz mold is similar to the Bugatti Veron.

Not really , from what I saw, since I have seen ,Sunstreaker is very much of a Lamborghini Gallardo and I even had a pic with it.

The Gallardo is the base, but he has enough little things different about him to make him different.

This is how all of the Classics figures would be. They look similar to the real car but not quite. There would be modifications to the figure so that Hasbro and Takara do not need to pay for the licensing fees or bother to get the permission from the car manufacturers as they did with the Alt/BT line.

I think if you look up licensing a certain amount of changes will see you home and dry with regard to stuff like this, could be wrong, I so frequently am :)

Yes, he's illegal. The police is aware and will arrest you if you try to purchase him.
