Hey guys, here's the rendering of Classic Hot Rod. Was able to cut down 12,000 polys on this one and I remodeled the roof of the car. Robot pics to come later on. Hope you guys like it.

On a side not. I wasn't able to work on the Grimlock character cuz I don't have the figure in hand. Should have it this weekend.

This is some really cool looking stuff. So what is involved in doing one of these? Are you measuring every little piece and part of the fig or "freehanding" so to speak?

Thanks for the comment. Not sure what you mean by what's involved but I use pictures of the character including the actual figure for transformation purposes. Each polymesh fits in the model just like the actual toy. There is little bits a freelance. Each model is not 100 percent exact to the model. Its about 90. The other 10 percent. Are my modification.

Oops! I guess I didn't articulate my question very well. I'm guessing that you're using 3D software and was curious as to how you get your 3D model so accurate to the toy.

Anywho that's really neat stuff you've done there. :)

Sorry for not understanding the question. I do use 3-D software called
    XSI 7.0.

To get the models so close, I take front, side, and top view pics and use those as refrences for the vehicle modes. I use the actual toys for the interior/robot mode.

Hope that answer your question bud. Thanks again for the positive feed back and feel free to check out my web page to see all my previous models

these pieces of art would be cool for mosaic-comics!

you had to do hard work to each figure, but after that you could create your own entire comic-universe!

thanks for all the great comments guys. i really appreciate the fact that you guys are enjoying my artwork.

As for a mosiax of these guys... Could very well possibly be but I have to learn more on lighting. But this idea isn't far out there. just might do it. def will be trying to get some more animations sequences though. Not sure when but soon. There's already one of Classic Prime with some sound effects on you tube.
