I have no idea if this has been brought up by anybody else but are there any more Decepticons (aside from the obvious repaints of Starscream to Thundercracker and Skywarp) planned or announced for the Classics line?

Because right now, the bad guys are looking to be outnumbered again for this line, which I think really bites (got used to the 1:1 ratio in BW.)

    Current planned/announced Classics

    Autobots (7):
    - Optimus Prime
    - Bumblebee
    - Rodimus
    - Mirage
    - Jetfire
    - Grimlock
    - Two-pack Optimus Prime

    Decepticons (4):
    - Megatron
    - Starscream
    - Astrotrain
    - Two-Pack Megatron

Possible repaints (i.e anybody's guesses are as good as mine):
    - Ultra Magnus (Optimus Prime)
    - Cliffjumper (Bumblebee w. (I hope) remolded head)
    - Tracks (Rodimus without spoiler)
    - Galvatron (Megatron)
    - Bludgeon (2P Megatron)
    - Shockwave (Megatron w. remolded head)
    - Thundercracker (Starscream)
    - Skywarp (Starscream)

There was info (but not necessarily confirmation that it would actually be made) of Ramjet, which seems to be a remolded Starscream.

Added: I think the info came from Hasbro at SDCC - something like "we're not sure we're going to make Ramjet, but if we do, it's definitely going to be remolded." in that Hasbro "we have no plans to..." doublespeak tone.

According to Kickback, the Classics line-up is this:

    Deluxes:

    Wave 1:

    Bumblebee
    Astrotrain
    Rodimus
    Starscream

    Wave 2:
    Grimlock (seen)
    Mirage (seen)
    Cliffjumper (redeco?)
    Ramjet (redeco?)

    Voyagers:

    Wave 1:
    Optimus Prime
    Megatron

    Wave 2:
    Jetfire (seen)
    Soundwave

    Unsure if actually Classics:

    Optimus Prime vs. Megatron two-pack

And that is supposed to be all of the Classics line.

You're kidding?! That's the entire line-up for the line? Man, Hasbro really needs to get it's designers on worthwhile projects like Classics instead of other, less worthwhile ones like, say, SWTF which are so much pegwarmers here (especially with the diminishing sales of the SW toys, you'd think they'd get it by now that SW is going bye-bye like Star Trek did a few years back. D'ah well...)

But thanks for the input guys. I really appreciate it. :D  Here's hoping that the lines does well enough that Hasbro'll continue making it for a couple waves (still gunning for a Classics Arcee.)

in their defence they don't know if its worthwhile or not. if its successful then the line will get resurrected after the movie toyline is done. we can talk all we want, but actions speak louder than words.

Well we haven't had botcon yet. It's not likely this line will die after only 2 waves. Like Redline said they want to test the success of this line before they start losing money.

It's 5:7, you know the first 2 years of G1 gave us a ratio of 29:48...... the BOTS are getting shortchanged from "classic" ratio of 84-85

(the 2-pack would make it 6:8)

    Oh I know...hence the :p  emoticon.

I don't think it will just end at 2 waves, but by the same token I would be quite surprised if the two 'cons I mentioned get some classics love.

But I'm not saying never ;)

Yeah, I agree that it'd be nice for the cons to have an even number of characters as the Autobots, but Hasbro's pretty much said that that won't happen at all. The current design team has been quoted saying something to the effect of a keeping a 5:3 ratio in favor of the good guys. Still, this seems to be alot less than that...

Of course, the line could get ressurected after the movie if it's successful. They did say that just about every line was going to go "on hiatus" during the movie months and all, because they want the focus to be on the movie. So... this line and others will stop and the successful ones will get brought back after the movie. Hasbro probably only has two waves planned right now, becuase they're testing the waters. Right now no one knows how well this line is going to do.

Like Redline said... we fans can talk all we want about how Hasbro should have done this years ago instead of Armada, Energon & Cybertron, but it doesn't really matter unless the kids get into this line also. If this line bombs with the kids than I wouldn't expect to see it again. However, if the kids latch on well enough... I'd say that it could be the next TV series. Maybe. But it going to be the kiddies and not us fanboys that are going to decide this line's fate.

This was a great idea for Hasbro to suck in both factors, kids and fans. Also with its release date being in late thrid to fourth quarter of the year, more then likely the strongest time of year for sales in toys and figures due to x-mas season. As long as the marketing is done right, this line should be a hit. Regardless for long this line lastest its great to see updates verisons of some of the Old School characters.

No mention of the classics minicons??
Anyways, when was it outright stated that it would only have 2 waves? I don't doubt it was stated, just can't remember when or where.

5:3.... so that's 10:6 in favor of the bots. It's currently 8:6 in favor of the bots. So whatever it "seems" like the current listing is actually more even.

I didn't see it anywhere in the press release that is was just two waves.

Personally, I think we'll see another wave of deluxes before the movie, maybe one or two of them new molds

DEFINITELY NEED MORE DECEPTICON ACTION. A new Cyclonus would be awesome, or Insecticons. Why can't this line be a few waves longer :(

Yes, a good Galvatron and Blitzwing would be much much appreciated, at least by me.
