A while ago, there was some Classic Camaro-to-Arcee kitbash chatter, and I came in with a few ideas, since I already had a Classic Camaro modification in progress. Anyway, here's some of the stuff I did... some details of the mods I did, and some digibashes of what the final project might look like. I had an old fan-made character in mind for my Camaro bash, so I probably won't follow up the Arcee idea myself, but I thought I'd post the work I did in case it might interest some folks here. Hopefully, the notes on the pics are clear, but if anyone has any questions, feel free. zmog
I think this is a wonderful idea and I would like to see you do it! If not, I hope someone picks it up!
Actually, SonRay was gonna do this one, and I was batting some ideas back and forth with him. But then he got himself Banned, so I figured I might as well post the pics so someone can get some use out of them. I gotta say... while I like the black and pink binary in robot mode (as opposed to Arcee's usual white and pink), I'm thinking that an all pink camaro is pretty hard on the eyes. I mean, sure... Barbie was always driving those pink Corvettes, but has anyone ever actually seen a pink Corvette? zmog
I've seen pink Cadillacs...Mary Kay (cosmetic line I think) gives them to it's top sellers or something. Anyways, that looks really good. I might try that. But It'll probably be a different female character as I already have an Arcee. BTW, for the head, is that Arcee's face photoshopped into BB's helmut?
Yup... though it's only for show, since the actual Energon Arcee face would be just a bit too small to match the BB head. I just wanted to demonstrate how drilling out the normal BB face, and inserting a new face could work for this mold. You could probably even chop a female face off a 3.5 inch action figure, paint it silver, and try gluing it in once the BB face is cut out. zmog
I like it. I hope you make it. I think it would make a sweet custom. BTW, is it me or does she look turned on? I know bad, but I couldn't resist it.
Well, I WILL be making this custom... sort of... But it won't be Arcee, it won't be pink and it won't be a fembot. Other than that, the basic modding of the figure you see here will be used. I've already done a fair bit of cutting to my Classic Camaro to permit it to swivel at the waist and so the legs can be configured backwards. zmog
Cool! I'm making a G1 looking Prowl from the classic camaro and did the modifieing to the feet were i can swing them around but i cut it up more where he can stand without heels.
Oh yeah? How did that work? The "heels" in this version were emphasized to give Arcee that "feminine" look, but I'd prefer if the feet were to lay flat. Did you have to cut away part of the car's back end? If you have any pictures of how you accomplished it, that would be sweet. zmog
It works great , I just have the leg turned on the joint were you can spin the leg around,I mean he does have a gap on the back of his foot but the wheel is supporting him I just kind of bend his legs backwards to where he can stand straight. And yes I did have to cut the back of the car a litte bit just to where his foot looks flatter. Once I get Prowl done you'll see how I did it.
Hmm... I'm having a hard time visualizing exactly what you've done. Guess I need a picture. Heh heh... just finish up that Prowl quick and post it! zmog
I modded my classic Camaro BB's feet by removing the shoulder pieces to create "heels" for the feet. The feet are in the same configuration as the ones in the pics above. Means having a partsformer but works really well.
I had to do very little to get this guy to work with backward feet. Aside from the modding I still need to so to get his knees to bend backward, the feet are pretty much done. Pretty much just cut enough off of the top to let it bend forward, and shave the extra yellow off of the bottom so that he balances no problem. Between the fender and the wheel, he's got plenty of support. I'd still recommend the heel idea for a fembot, but this works just fine for a guy.
Interesting... I wouldn't have thought that cropping off the yellow "exhaust" ridges under the back end of the car would actually allow his feet to sit flat. That's cool! I already cleared off the stuff on top (where your upper green line is), so it shouldn't take me long to try that out at all. Thanks! zmog
I figured it out when I chopped the top off to allow his feet to bend backward. I tried making him stand, and he kept falling backward, unless I gave 'em backward-bent knees. Lo and behold, his feet were resting on those darn ridges. X3 It's a shame he's such an old Camaro - he'd otherwise make a perfect prowl.
