I'm a big Stephen Chow fan... for any other Chow fans.. he has a new movie coming out: This one has subtitles.. but only for 2 lines.. the rest of just an english narrator introducing the movie.. but the subtitles are funny (The first subtitle actually says "Not another peep or I'll throw you out on the street!") Comes out the end of this month for China.. hits America in March
Looking forwad to this too. I read somewhere that he did this kind of story to hopefully introduce a family genre in China. I didn't know they were lacking a family genre. Wow.. French huh? That's cool he's getting international exposure. I'm just glad he's doing movies again
I couldn't make it through Kung Fu Hustle. That awful Looney Tunes style running / chase scene made my puke up my balls.
Stephen Chow : Lately my body has a problem Girl : What problem ? SC : I am more handsome than before *self laugh* Bloody hell so cocky that I laugh. XD
I love Chow's work. I can't wait to see this one. The fact he's involved with the Dragonball movie project is one of the few bright spots in the whole thing.
I agree with you on this.. There's a lot of times where the translation just doesn't capture the true humor of a situation/line..
Woo! Loved his stuff ever since I saw God of Cookery (still my personal fav) waaaay back in like 2001 or 2002. Though I'm curious if this follows the usual "Chow Format" procedure. Like, lots of circular pans, Chow's character going from wacky/cocky to sensitive awesomeguy to mark the climax, etc. XD
And I agree. Especially the Bai Mei in Kill Bill 2, even with english sub it still can't capture the cockiness.
