Can anyone help me, I've been interested in the Marvel Civil War storyline for quite some time and I wanted to know wether I should get The Amazing Spider-Man TPB(His point of view on all of this interests me) or Civil War TPB.
Civil War is far better than the Spider-Man stuff. tThey go together nicely but if you're going to get one get Civil War. Or get both but get Civil War first
I actually enjoyed Civil War, and I found the Spidey trade a good part of the story. I would recommend it if you want to follow the Civil War story.
I really liked it. As long as it'd take, read all of it. Tie-ins and all. And if you don't read all the tie ins, at least read Frontline. Speedball to Penenace is oh so delicious
I miss Speedball. Whatever happened to monkey Speedball? Anyhoo, I didn't read most of Civil War, but I really kinda liked Spider-Man's identity being publicly known. Somehow, it works for him.
Start with the Road to Civil War TPB, Frontlines TPB and then move from there into Civil War TPB. This will provide you with a great all around perspective. Anything in between is based on your own personal interest and serves as filler, IMO. For the record, I really enjoyed the Civil War storyline. One rule of thumb I have concerning books or movies I'm interested in is that I won't let other people's disgust or negativity surrounding it prevent me from reading or watching it myself to form my own judgement. I would have missed out on a lot of, what I felt were, great stories/movies had I not adhered to this one rule. Read it, let me know what you thought. I'd be interested to hear your opinion.
IMHO, my fav tie-ins were: Amazing Spider-man Fantastic Four (These both have kinda contradicting scenes, but whatever great stories) Ms. Marvel Iron Man Thunderbolts-Faith in Monsters (not the main Civil War one)
I keep forgetting this series came outta Civil War. That being the case, I second this, because it's a fantastic book on it's own, too.
It was decent. The funeral for Stilt man was probably one of the best single issues I have ever read.
The last time they showed him, he was in the Initiative, then they sent him away to deal with the new Ape X. The Red Ghost eventually forced him to take him to the apeverse, which is now the zombie apeverse. The Gibbon, the new 616 Ape X, and their group also got sent there at the end of the second apeverse story, so they'll get back to it, eventually. You should check it out. Monkeyball meets regular Speedball's parents. Each book also has this hilarious backup story about Charles Darwin getting transported to the apeverse, Looki splitting him into 3 people, and then joining the Fantastic 4.
yeah, i really enjoyed that too... and if you want to buy some of the comics instead of TPBs let me know, i'm selling a bunch of Civil War tie-ins as sets...
